The ‘90s are back, baby—at least in the soda aisle of your local grocery store.

No, Crystal Pepsi isn’t making a grand return (that unpleasant experiment in soda had better stay in the past, in my opinion) to dethrone sparkling water and prebiotic beverages. Rather, one soft drink brand is bringing back one of the decade’s most popular flavors in a fresh way, and I’m already counting down the days until I can crack open a bottle or can.
Crush’s Big Troppa Punch Goes All In On Nostalgia
Crush is introducing a soda that’s directly inspired by the 1990s. In fact, that inspo is right in the drink’s name: Back to the ’90s Big Troppa Punch.
We first got a hint of Big Troppa Punch back in April, when promotional materials for this Crush creation were leaked. Now, we know more about the flavor (and it’s been officially confirmed).
Technically, Big Troppa Punch didn’t actually exist in the 1990s. But the flavor is inspired by fruit punch, which was a huge hit during the decade. After all, school lunch boxes packed with Hi-C juice boxes and fridges filled with cans of Hawaiian Punch were everywhere. And Crush does have some ties to the flavor—if you love soda deep cuts, you might recall that the beverage brand had a Sparkling Tropical Punch just a few years ago.
Big Troppa Punch will feature a mix of “bold, fruit-forward flavors” and a can with ‘90s-inspired neon and graffiti artwork. We’re guessing there will be hints of pineapple and strawberry, too, based on photos we’ve spotted of the bottles and other packaging.
This isn’t the first nostalgia-fueled soda that Crush has created. In 2025, the beverage brand brought Back to the ’80s Electric Blue Razz Soda to stores, a variety inspired by that classic, sour-sweet blue raspberry flavor we all know and love.
When Will Big Troppa Punch Hit Store Shelves?
Crush’s Back to the ’90s Big Troppa Punch will be available for purchase sometime in July. We don’t have an exact release date, but we do know it’s coming very soon.
You’ll be able to pick up 20-ounce bottles of Crush’s new flavor and packs of 12-ounce cans at your go-to stores. Unfortunately, there won’t be a zero sugar version released, but if you’re a sweet and tropical fruit fan—or simply someone craving the perfect sip for a ‘90s-inspired summer—this will hit the spot.
