It’s been a banner year for fast food birthdays. Carl’s Jr. is turning the grand old age of 85 (and is celebrating by asking you to make a commercial)! Jack in the Box turned the slightly younger, but no less grand, age of 75 (and gave away $75k in the process)! And Whataburger is turning…76! Grand, yes – but feels ever-so-slightly less of a milestone than a birthday ending in a 5 or a 0, somehow.

But that’s not stopping Whataburger from going big, though. It’s celebrating its birthday for a full month, and for customers, that means a succession of offers throughout August. Let’s check them out.
Happy Birthday, Whataburger!
Yesterday, Whataburger announced its month-long suite of deals in a press release that stated, “one day to celebrate just wasn’t enough.” As someone whose birthday is quite literally in three days, I agree – I’m going to be milking it as much as I can – and Whataburger customers will be the beneficiaries of this inclination.
The main event is on Saturday, August 8, which is, incidentally, National Whataburger Day, marking the date that the restaurant first opened its doors in Corpus Christi, Texas. Whataburger Rewards members can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free deal on #1 Whataburgers from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time at participating locations.
A couple of days before that, though – and in the weeks following it – Whataburger will be running a host of 76-cent deals on various items. The deals and dates are:
- August 5: You can get a 76-cent Taquito with Cheese, entrée only, from 6 to 11 a.m.
- August 12: Want a 12-ounce Whatafresher? It’s yours for 76 cents, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- August 19: A 76-cent Big Ranch Wrap, entrée only, is up for grabs here, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Aug. 26: Aaaand finally! Get a 76-cent Signature Chicken Sandwich, entrée only, from 5 to 10 p.m.
Whatadeal!
Whataburger’s birthday deals are only available to its Rewards members, and you’ll only find them in its app – so make sure you sign up, download, etc. before you head into its stores. They follow a flurry of activity from the chain, which has been having a busy summer. These offers follow hot on the heels of its July ones and the release of two new drinks, which dropped on Tuesday of this week. Whatatime to be a Whataburger fan.
