The Tostitos company has been long established as one of the quintessential chip brands in American households and grocery stores. But, outside of the occasional introduction of a new shape, we haven’t seen much ingenuity out of the company. Despite our eternal gratitude for the invention of Tostitos Scoops and Hint of Lime chips, it does feel like it’s time to see what more of the company is capable of with their classics locked down.

And, a trusted source of Sporked recently keyed us into a new rumor about the company’s big ambitions. According to our source and some leaked mock ups, it seems like we have a pretty good idea of what we might see coming from Tostito’s producers (hint: it’s a lot).
A Full Rumor Rundown
First and perhaps most excitingly of all, Tostitos is combining two of their most iconic tortilla chip varieties into one diabolically good idea (allegedly, of course). The combination of Tostitos Scoops and Tostitos Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips into Tostitos Hint of Lime Scoops seems like an idea that was just begging to happen. I mean, it’s an obvious combo, and it will make their chips even more irresistible. I can imagine it now: dipping a Hint of Lime Scoop into freshly made guac and all of my inhibitions melting away. Best of all, we could potentially be seeing these chips hit shelves as early as January 2027.
Their other supposed ideas for 2027 are pretty innovative, too. And, from the sounds of it, they’re bringing a lot of big flavor. The Smoked Jalapeño Ranchero flavor will be reminiscent of a spicy, smokey salsa flavor, and available around September 2027. For a sweet twist, Tostitos is bringing an iconic dessert to a masa chip. The churro flavored chips are just overflowing with possibilities for unique and innovative dessert snacking. Dipping a cinnamon sugar tortilla chip into the viral s’mores dip sounds pretty fantastic to me, friends. For this rumored release, we may have to wait all the way until November 2027 though.
Part of the rumored new launches is something called the Masa Especial line that looks so densely packed with flavors that it may be coming for Doritos’ spot as the king of flavored tortilla chips. Part of this collection are the Hatch Chili and Lime and Roasted Tomato and Garlic Flavors. These, however, may hit shelves in February 2027, right after the Hint of Lime Scoops.
An Extra Unique Addition
This all sounds very exciting, but Tostitos makes more than just chips after all. The elote, or “Mexican street corn,” craze has really expanded over the recent years in the United States. Novelty ice cream shops in New York have made it as a unique cone, and Quest has even made protein chips with the flavor. But, a readily accessible elote dip that’s made with actual pieces of corn sounds like a rumor a bit too good to be true. We’re going to be anticipating this potential launch with the utmost curiosity. And, with their rumored launch of January 2027, it’s looking like it’ll be the perfect pairing to debut with the new Hint of Lime Scoops.
