OREO Made Chicken & Waffles, Banana Pudding, and Deep Fried Cookies

It’s been too long since we’ve seen a new OREO cookie on store shelves. While one of our favorite OREO releases of 2025 is returning to shelves as we speak, the last truly new OREO was… the BTS collab back in May? How can we be expected to go two months without a new creme-filled sandwich cookie to talk about!?

Thankfully, the good people at OREO heard our pleas. Later this month, three brand-new OREO cookies are hitting shelves with a twist… literally. OREO’s “Twist, Lick, Vote” campaign will let the common man decide which of these three unique flavors will return to the OREO lineup for a limited time next year.

All three flavors will hit OREO’s webstore and TikTok Shop starting on August 17th. Read on for information on these new flavors, as well as details on how to vote for your favorite and what you can win by voting. (Since OREO sent yours truly an early batch of all three cookies, I’ll drop a few of my own flavor notes ahead of our in-depth review later this month.)

OREO Deep Fried Cookies

These fried dough-flavored cookies sandwich three layers of creme (dark chocolate, vanilla, and dark chocolate) to genuinely emulate the entire Deep Fried OREO experience inside of a single OREO. As someone who started my time here at Sporked by referring to an OREO-flavored OREO with the phrase “cookie ouroboros“, I’m just glad to see another in my lifetime. This is, surprisingly, my favorite of the trio.

OREO Banana Pudding Cookies

Two classic Golden OREO cookies pack a dual layer of banana and vanilla pudding cremes to deliver the iconic family reunion dessert in bite-sized form.

This is easily the least groundbreaking cookie concept of the trio; it’s a good reminder that we’re absolutely spoiled by OREO innovation when we’re a little whelmed by a double-creme-layer cookie. While this didn’t blow me away, there’s no doubt this is a solid take on the concept.

OREO Chicken & Waffles Cookies

This is the one that’ll grab your attention at the store. This chicken-and-waffles offering is the first-ever sweet-and-savory OREO, delivering a dual layer of fried chicken and maple syrup cremes inside waffle-embossed cookies for maximum thematic delivery.

Folks, I did some digging for this detail: OREO Chicken & Waffles Cookies are vegetarian-friendly. While certain products (like McDonald’s French fries) include meat byproducts under “Natural Flavors”, I have confirmed with OREO that this cookie is 100% meat-free. That is not a sentence I ever thought I’d have to write. (Speaking of, I’m bemused to share that my vegetarian girlfriend was not a fan of this cookie in the slightest… because it was too accurate.)

How can I vote for my favorite?

Once you’ve tried all three cookies, scan the QR code on each Twist, Lick, Vote flavor trio pack (or click here) and vote every day from August 17th through October 12th. The winning flavor will be revealed on October 13th ahead of a return to the OREO lineup sometime in 2027.

As a bonus, no matter which flavor you vote for, your vote automatically enters you into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of original OREO cookies. (In case you’re wondering what OREO considers a year’s supply, the winner will receive 40 packs spread out over quarterly shipments. At roughly 33 cookies per pack, that’s 1,320 cookies over the whole year–3.6 cookies per day!)
