Sweetgreen has officially decided that if you’re going to eat canned fish, you might as well do it in public.

The salad chain has teamed up with tinned seafood brand Fishwife for its first-ever national restaurant collaboration and the result is the Summer Niçoise: a limited-time salad that comes with an actual tin of Fishwife tuna on the side.
Yes, a whole tin.
Sweetgreen Is Serving The Tuna Separately
The Summer Niçoise comes with romaine, spring mix, a summer vegetable medley, tomatoes, pickled onions, roasted sweet potatoes, crispy onions, and a hard-boiled egg, all finished with lemon tarragon vinaigrette.
Then there’s the Fishwife Albacore Tuna with Spanish Lemon, packed in olive oil with lemon. And Sweetgreen doesn’t just dump the tuna on top for you. The custom co-branded tin comes on the side, so you get to open it yourself and add the tuna to your salad.
Which can either be described as a fun little interactive touch or the fanciest possible way to be handed a can of tuna at lunch.
This is Fishwife’s First National Restaurant Collab
The Los Angeles-based canned seafood brand is making its first-ever appearance at a national restaurant, while Sweetgreen is putting tinned fish on its menu for the first time. The custom tin even features artwork from Fishwife illustrator Danny Miller, so this isn’t just a case of Sweetgreen quietly throwing some canned tuna into a bowl and calling it a day.
It’s a whole aesthetic.
And if you’ve spent any time around the tinned-fish corner of the internet, you know Fishwife has built a pretty big following around making tinned seafood feel like something you actually want to eat, rather than the emergency can sitting in the back of your pantry.
Sweetgreen is clearly on board.
Sweetgreen’s “Summer Of Fish”
The Summer Niçoise is the centerpiece of Sweetgreen’s “Summer of Fish,” a late-summer menu moment built around seafood-forward dishes.
There’s also a permanent addition arriving alongside it, for anyone who wants the seafood without the countdown clock. The new Omega Glow bowl features miso-glazed salmon, romaine, white rice, corn salsa, carrots, cabbage, cilantro, and almonds, finished with miso sesame ginger dressing. Unlike the Niçoise, the Omega Glow is joining the core menu to stay.
So while the Niçoise is still a Sweetgreen salad, the whole push has a little more personality than the usual chicken-and-avocado situation.
You Don’t Have Long To Try It
There’s one pretty important catch if the idea of opening a tin of Fishwife tuna at your desk has you intrigued. The Summer Niçoise is only available through August 24th.
It’s available nationwide at Sweetgreen locations, and you can order it in-store, through the Sweetgreen app, or online. So if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to have fancy canned fish for your work lunch, this is your window.
And if you’re already a tinned-fish person, well, Sweetgreen has finally brought your pantry to a salad bowl.
