When Is BYO Cup Day At 7-Eleven?

Last year, 7-Eleven gave Slurpee fans a pretty good excuse to skip the regular cup. For Bring Your Own Cup Day, customers could bring in their own containers and fill them with their favorite frozen drink for $1.99. And 7-Eleven also used the opportunity to debut two Slurpee drinks.

This year, the chain is bringing the deal back on September 19th. The rules are still simple, but there is plenty of room for creativity when it comes to choosing the container.

The Cup Doesn’t Have To Be A Cup

For one day, September 19th, customers can bring their own container to participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores and fill it with any available Slurpee flavor for just $1.99. 

There is no need to grab a regular cup from the kitchen cabinet for this one. 7-Eleven has built BYOC Day around the idea of getting creative with the container. 

Over the years, fans have brought all kinds of unusual “cups” for their frozen drinks. Popcorn buckets, fish bowls, flower vases, cookie jars, pitchers, teapots, trophies and even bike helmets have all been part of the fun.

That doesn’t mean you can actually carry a giant bucket into the store and fill to the brim, though. There is a very important test to pass first.

There Is A 10-Inch Test

Before a container gets anywhere near the Slurpee machine, it needs to meet a few rules.

7-Eleven says the container must be clean, watertight, and leak-proof. Most importantly, it needs to fit upright inside a 10-inch cutout at the store. The test is there to make sure the container can actually fit under the Slurpee dispenser.

There is also a one-cup-per-person limit, and the $1.99 offer is only available at participating stores while supplies last.

Any Slurpee Flavor Will Do

Once the container passes the test, the fun part begins. Customers can fill it with any available Slurpee drink flavor for $1.99.

So there is no need to stick with one particular flavor for the promotion. The selection will depend on what is available at the participating store, so the local Slurpee machine lineup will decide what goes into that wonderfully strange cup.

There is also a familiar flavor making a comeback around the same time. 7-Eleven is bringing back the Mountain Dew Slurpee for a limited run. The citrusy frozen drink will be available at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores through October 28, 2026.

Time To Find A Very Weird Cup

September 19th is the day to start looking around for a container that can handle a Slurpee. A fish bowl? Maybe. A popcorn bucket? Sure. A trophy? If it passes the test, why not? 

The rules are simple: the container needs to be clean, leak-proof, watertight, and able to stand upright inside the 10-inch cutout. If it passes, the Slurpee costs just $1.99.
