Just as quickly as I published our news coverage on the newest and strangest Slurpee, I found the flavor on tap at my local Speedway. For you good people, I grabbed a cup and poured myself a frosty cup of… frozen Mountain Dew cake.

This flavor isn’t the only special addition to the 7-ELEVEN experience ahead of 7/11/26; read on past the review for details on a very exclusive Slurpee Date experience hitting select stores across the country. First, let’s find out whether Mountain Dew Cake-Smash deserved to be revived in Slurpee form.

Mountain Dew Confetti Chill Slurpee Review

New Mountain Dew Slurpee!

Pros: This is, bizarrely, exactly what I expected from a cake-flavored Mountain Dew-flavored Slurpee. Per a recent promotional email, I know the official flavor description for Mountain Dew Confetti Chill is “birthday cake with a citrusy twist, blending bright citrus flavor with notes of sweet vanilla icing for a zesty lemon cake treat in a frozen drink form.” Sure enough, this tastes like nuclear-green fake citrus underneath an inch-thick spackling of icing. The Mountain Dew Confetti Chill Slurpee genuinely earns points for being unabashedly true to its labeled intent.

Cons: But why? Why did we need this? Who was asking for cake-flavored Slurpees, and why did Mountain Dew answer the call? I have a feeling no one over the age of 10 will be going back for seconds on this flavor. My advice? Check this flavor out on 7/11, when you can get a free small Slurpee just for walking into your local 7-ELEVEN/Speedway/Stripes location.

What else is happening at 7-ELEVEN on 7/11?

Four stores across the country are turning Slurpee Day into the perfect Slurpee Date. All four stores will feature “a Slurpee Date photo-op bench, commemorative keepsakes, and limited-edition, bedazzled Slurpee ‘S’ double straws inspired by the brand’s diamond anniversary.”

  • Los Angeles, CA: 8541 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265
  • Columbus (Speedway): 1805 Jackson Pike, Columbus, OH 43223
  • Dallas Fort Worth, TX: 9750 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 752386
  • New York/New Jersey: 1215 NW Central Ave, Seaside Park, NJ 08752

As someone located in one of those four cities, it kills me that I’ll be out of town for this experience. I know my girlfriend would have been truly thrilled to hear “I need to go on a gas station date with you for work.”
