Long John Silver’s Might Have The Cheapest Game Day Wings Around

2026 may be a time when everything feels more expensive than it’s ever been, but there’s hope for fast food fans: In response to the rising cost of living, virtually every restaurant out there is trying to beat each other with their deals. Now, sometimes, these deals say they’re affordable, but they’re really…not. Others, though, are pretty decent. Checkers & Rally’s recent birthday offers were some of the more impressively affordable out there, while on the football front, Dairy Queen and Jimmy John’s have rolled out game day deals that genuinely felt like they had customer spend in mind.

Long John Silver’s, though, might beat them all. The seafood and chicken restaurant has wings back on the menu, and it’s selling ‘em cheap. 

Long John Silver’s Crispy Battered Wings

Yesterday, Long John Silver’s announced the arrival of its Crispy Battered Wings, marking the first time they’ve been on the menu in a minute. By a minute, we mean years: The chain first had wings (then known as Chicken Peg Legs) back in the 1970s, before they disappeared for decades. Football season, though, is as good a time as any to bring them back – and now, these crunchy wings are available in all their glory. 

For a steal, too. Long John Silver’s Crispy Battered Wings cost $1.99 for a three-piece, making them an affordable add-on or a snack. LSJ suggests pairing them with either Baja or Sweet Chili sauce – or grabbing them as part of its new Game Day platter, which features six wings, six golden-fried shrimp, and six Fried Pickles, with two sides, two hushpuppies, and dipping sauces. Surf and Turf? More like…Surf and Sky. Okay, I’ll see myself out. 

But…Are They Any Good?

Long John Silver’s isn’t exactly known for serving gourmet, world-class cuisine (that’s not a veiled criticism – nor is any other fast food restaurant), but that doesn’t mean it can’t hold its own with some of its items. And its wings, I’m pleased to report, seem to be hitting the spot. A recent review from Mashed praised these little golden bites, remarking on their full flavor and sense of quality, particularly when considering their price. It’s easy to mess up a wing. It’s even easier when said wing comes in at approximately $0.67 per piece. But it looks like Long John Silver’s has got this one right.

Sadly, these wings are limited-time items (for now, at least), so get them while you can at participating stores. Shiver me timbers, and all that.
