One Of Our Favorite Fall Trader Joe’s Products Is Finally Back

Anyone who’s looking for food-based cozy comfort over the next few weeks would do well to visit Trader Joe’s. When we say the store is stocked, we mean it: It’s currently overrun with pumpkin spice items that its customers can’t get enough of. Amongst the winners in its fall-themed lineup this year have been its Chocolate Mousse Pumpkins and Autumn Leaf Sugar Cookies, both of which have been receiving rave reviews from its shoppers.

There’s one item, though, that has got a lot of people veeeery excited – and it’s one that we previously ranked as one of our favorites. It hasn’t been around since 2023, but now it’s back. Sound the bells in celebration. 

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Ginger Scones

This week, keen-eyed customers and Trader Joe’s observers (of which there are many) spied the store’s Pumpkin Ginger Scones in its freezer section once more. To recap, should you have missed these the first time around – or if you’ve forgotten all about them, in the maelstrom of the last three years – these scones are infused with a pumpkin spice blend and crystallized ginger, with a buttery undertone that both brings out and mellows their sharper notes. They come in precut triangles, and when baked, they puff up into plump little wedges, ready to receive whatever jam or spread you wish to adorn them with. 

Although Trader Joe’s doesn’t currently have them listed on its website, they are very much real and in the flesh (it also featured them on its Fall Flyer for this year, so it’s not going to renege on that promise, now, is it?). Back when they were released in 2023, we gave these scones a taste test in our ranking of Trader Joe’s pumpkin spice products, and while they came sixth out of a whopping 23 items – so it’s safe to say that we approved. 

And The People Will Too!

The news of Trader Joe’s bringing back its Pumpkin Ginger Scones has been received with jubilation by its customers, who have been asking for the store to revive them yearly since 2023. Prayers really are answered! If you’re not near a Trader Joe’s, though, worth noting that Target also does its own version – and they come prebaked, in a tub, in its bakery section, and run for around $4.99 per pack (depending on location). If the prospect of turning on the oven feels too great, then you have options.
