This week at Crumbl, we don’t necessarily have a theme per se, but I think it’s safe to say that we’re looking at a pretty strong run of fan-favorite flavors. From cookies and cream to Dubai chocolate, there’s certainly a little bit of something for everyone to love. And, as always, we like to dip our toes into the taste test waters and get our hands in at least one of the rotating flavors.

This week, we chose their Cereal Milk Cookie featuring Fruity Pebbles. It’s a cereal-inspired sugar cookie coated in Fruity Pebbles and doused in a milky glaze. Not only doesn’t sound delicious and nostalgic, but it also sounds deeply interesting as it introduces a flavor profile and texture that we don’t usually see at Crumbl. Especially as we get closer to Halloween our nostalgia is piquing, so we knew we would have to try this out. Here is our official Sporked review.
Our Official Thoughts
Pros — For starters, let’s just get one thing out of the way: if you don’t like Fruity Pebbles, you’re certainly not going to like this cookie. You get the flavor of Fruity Pebbles throughout each and every bite. And for us fans of the fruity cereal, we loved how thorough and consistent that flavor was through each bite. It’s not like it was just a couple of pieces as garnish. It was a true and proper coating of the cereal pieces all around the cookie. Not only did we appreciate that flavor, but the texture that it introduced to the cookie is wonderful. They’re light and crispy and juxtaposed the tender, warm cookie underneath in a truly delightful way.
And, perhaps the most enjoyable thing about this cookie is the glaze itself. It’s not that the glaze was particularly distinct in flavor and impressive in that way, but rather the opportunity that it provides in contrast to the style of cookie we traditionally see from Crumbl struck us as impressive. With the buttercream frosting topping we see on most Crumbl cookies, it is heavy and overbearing when combined with the sweet and dense cookies. But, this glaze actually serves as an opportunity for the cookie, and in this case the texture and flavor of the Fruity Pebbles, to really shine.
Maybe it’s just the cookies that we’ve been selecting recently to taste test, but Crumbl does seem to be on more of a pattern of adding in more balance and nuance into their cookies. One primary way they’re doing that is represented in this cookie as well, and it’s via a hefty dose of salt. The occasional pop of salt allows these flavors to actually sing, even if they are simple, child-like tastes.
Cons — I think the strangest thing about this cookie is simply the fact of how it simultaneously feels like one of the most tender and most stale cookies that we’ve ever gotten from Crumbl. Because of it being so warm, it really does almost just fall apart in your hands of how soft and delicate is. But the crispness of the Fruity Pebbles does feel more stale than crispy as time goes on. If you’re not planning on eating this cookie immediately, the texture Fruity Pebbles becomes distinctly unpleasant in concert with the rest of the cookie.
