Taco Bell’s been in the news a lot lately (although when is it not?), but as you’d probably expect from a restaurant chain, that’s mainly been due to its food. In the last few weeks, for instance, we’ve discussed its upgrades of test items to fully available ones, and the fact that Baja Blast is here to stay for at least another decade – and while these have all been interesting enough to talk about, they feel like pretty standard updates, no?

Recently, though, Taco Bell announced something that feels wholly unrelated to menu items or newfangled flavors, and one that could directly benefit some people’s futures. Its Live Más Scholarship is back.

Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship

As People reports, Taco Bell’s Live Más Scholarship is returning for its 12th year, with The Taco Bell Foundation putting more than $13 million towards young people’s futures and educational pursuits. If you’re between the ages of 16 and 26, a legal resident of the United States, and either on track to apply for or currently part of an accredited post-high school/post-secondary program, you can apply for an individual scholarship of up to $25,000 from now until January 5, 2027. To date, the Taco Bell Foundation has given out $78 million in scholarships to thousands of different young people across the US.

You won’t need to submit the academic information typical of other scholarships to apply, either. Instead, the Taco Bell Foundation invites applicants to either submit a short video or essay, discussing your own personal passions, your link to and care for a specific community, and the impact you hope to make (or have made) through the pursuit of your educational goals, career, or passion. Full details can be found on the Taco Bell Foundation website.

Investing In The Future

Taco Bell isn’t the only fast food restaurant that offers scholarships: In fact, plenty of them do. Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, and Burger King all have their own scholarship programs, which are designed to benefit both their employees and communities more broadly. A lot of the time, these scholarships serve not just to benefit the recipients, but they also help to support community engagement – and help restaurants retain workers in an industry that’s pretty famous for high employee turnover.

Taco Bell’s scholarship, though, has no such requirements (although it’s also open to employees) — and given that the application process is short, it could be worth a shot.
