All the way back in April 2025, I covered the first sightings of the at-the-time new Alani Nu flavor Sherbet Swirl. At the very bottom of that piece, I mention something I’d been keeping an eye on for a few months: a trademark application filed by Alani Nu. Since I’m a lunatic who digs around in legal filing databases, I knew that Alani Nu had some sort of plans to release a product (energy drink, gummies, supplement, etc.) under the name “Cherry Bombshell”.
Today, that snooping pays off. A full 11 months after I first discovered plans for “Cherry Bombshell,” I’ve got my hands on Alani Nu’s brand new Cherry Bomb Energy. Not to sound like a cigar-chomping newsman, but there’s de facto proof that Sporked keeps you up to date on everything Alani Nu—we give you scoops here, gang. Let’s crack open this long-awaited flavor and see whether it’s the bomb.

Nu Alani Nu Flavor!

Pros: Oh, hallelujah. I’ve tried every Alani Nu energy drink released in recent memory, and this is the best flavor I’ve ever had the privilege of reviewing. Is this trying to be cherry cola? Is this trying to be a pepper soda? It’s right down the middle – and that’s not a bad thing. Alani Nu Cherry Bomb is very similar to multiple popular sodas, and it could easily convert an energy drink hater to a devotee. I say that because one of my most devout anti-zero-sugar taste testers did a cartoonish double-take when I informed her it was zero-sugar.
Cons: Right at the end of every sip, there’s a little of that alternative sweetener unctuousness that Alani Nu usually covers up entirely. Now, I’ve tried tons of zero-sugar cherry colas and pepper sodas in my time here at Sporked; it’s not easy to make convincing facsimiles of these classic drinks without sugar. The fact that there’s only a hint of that noticeable lack of sugar in Alani Nu Cherry Bomb is commendable… but it will stand out to folks coming to this drink from an exclusively sugary drink background.
