6 New Foods to Try at Aldi This May

It’s that time of the month again, people: Time for us to see what new delectable delights our buddy Aldi has in store for us over the next 30 days (I don’t know what time of the month you were thinking of, silly). So for those of you itching to know what gifts Aldi has decided to bestow upon us this spring, don’t fret, because it looks like a bunch of new and returning bangers are heading to stores this month, from gluten free to high protein to just plain “I want to go to there.”

liveGfree Gluten Free Cheesecake Sampler

This is a returning item, but people online seem to love it. Like Brigadoon but 99 years fewer and a dessert instead of a Scottish town, this cheesecake sampler pops back onto Aldi shelves around this time every year—and this time of the year is finally here. So if you like gluten free cheesecake in lemon swirl, chocolate chip, strawberry swirl, and New York-style flaves, head on over to Aldi after May 15 and get yourself one of these. ($10.99, available May 15)

Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks

You may have had Mama Cozzi’s cheesy breadsticks, but this stuffed version looks less like what you get at your local pizza shop and more like an exciting new mashup of cheesy garlic bread and mozzarella sticks. I don’t know what else to tell you. I will one way or another be acquiring some of these bad boys come mid-May. ($2.69, available May 15)

Park Street Deli Honey Jalapeño and Everything Seasoned Hummus

What’s this? Two new flavors of hummus? You betcha, and there is something for everyone. So whether you have secretly always wanted your hummus garlickier and onionier or whether you just want a bit of hot honey flavor built into your chickpea spread, Aldi has some great options for your pita chip dippin’ pleasure. ($1.99, available May 8)

Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Hot Honey Chickpea Crust Three Cheese or Turkey Sausage and Pepper Pizza

Hey, wouldn’t you believe it? Mama Cozzi is back at it again with more Italian-adjacent offerings, and this time we’re looking at a couple of high protein pizzas: Hot Honey Chickpea Crust pizzas in Three Cheese or Turkey Sausage & Peppers varities. And the best news? They come out next week, so we don’t even have to wait that long! ($6.99, available May 8)

Fremont Fish Market Hickory Bourbon BBQ or Honey Mustard Air Fryer Salmon

Looking for some pre-seasoned fish you can just pop into the air fryer (tray and all) for a healthy, very sophisticated, and adult protein source? Look no further than this air fryer salmon that comes in two flavors: Hickory Bourbon BBQ or Honey Mustard. I really hope these two are good because, if nothing else, wouldn’t that just be such a convenient protein for a weeknight dinner? ($3.99, available now)

Nature’s Nectar Sparkling Drink Mixers in Pineapple, Watermelon, and Strawberry

It’s unclear exactly what these are, but if I were a guessing guy, I would venture a guess that they are some form of sparkling juice meant to be mixed into whatever drink you like. So if you are looking for a way to put some sparkle (and extra fruit flavor) into your lemonades, mocktails, and cocktails this summer, I have a feeling these three sparkling drink mixers may just do the trick. But that’s just a theory. A Nature’s Nectar Sparkling Drink Mixers Theory. We will all have to test that theory ourselves when these drinks hit shelves in a couple weeks. ($3.49, available May 15)
