Frozen pizza is so very often vaguely disappointing. Sorry – we all know that it’s true. Yes, there are some excellent frozen pizzas out there, but a lot of the time, particularly if you’re opting for a budget-friendly option, you end up with scant cheese coverage, cardboard-adjacent bases, and no sense of freshness or nutritional value. And yes, I’m well aware that most of us don’t look to pizza for nutritional value in the first place, but there’s no reason why every version of this dish should feel totally devoid of it.

Aldi’s newest pizza, though, seems to be achieving a rare feat by being an item that’s simultaneously tasty, affordable, and with some good old-fashioned NUTRITION going on. Customers love it. Let’s break it allllll down.

Mama Cozzi’s Spinach & Artichoke Pizza

Last week, Aldi released its new Mama Cozzi’s Spinach & Artichoke Pizza, alongside a Jalapeño Poppers pizza under the same brand name. We talked about them when they landed, in fact, although at that point, we didn’t have much of a sense of what they would taste like. We did, however, love the fact that Aldi had turned two dips into pizzas. So, the stage was set for some appreciation, if it managed to get it right.

Reader, it did. Over the last few days, customer reviews have started to pop up for this pizza, and by and large, people are big fans. One Redditor noted that “the toppings are generous and well distributed,” and judging by the picture they took of their pizza, it definitely looked this way: There’s a good amount of spinach and artichoke mixed in with the cheese and the Alfredo-style sauce (yes, the latter two don’t scream nutrition, but spinach! Artichoke! Green stuff!), and it cooks up nicely. It also lends itself well to doctoring, should you want to spruce it up with some ground sausage or pepperoni. Another person who also tried the pizza noted that it’s “pretty good” – which isn’t rapturous praise, but nor is it utterly damning. Over on Facebook, meanwhile, the artichokes got a particular shout-out for their flavor.

And I Can Get It Now?

You can get it now! Mama Cozzi’s Spinach & Artichoke Pizza is available at Aldi stores around the country, and it’ll set you back $4.99 per pie. It sits alongside Mama Cozzi’s Cauliflower Crust Pepperoni Pizza, which we named as the runner-up a few years ago in our ranking of Aldi’s best pizzas. Grab two and make a night of it? Pizza party? Hey, why not?
