Gazpacho and cold soups in general are the unsung heroes of summer. This year, I’ve found myself reaching for them more than ever before, and given that everyone, everywhere, has been really, really hot in the summer of 2026, I’d imagine I’m not alone. But for all its good qualities, gazpacho has never really taken off as a prepared food item in the way that its warm counterparts have. It’s probably because this dish relies on freshness to really work; if it feels flat or processed, it’s not worth your time. There are prepared gazpachos floating around, sure – but it’s not super mainstream.

PepsiCo is hoping to change that. The food giant has just announced the launch of its ready-to-eat, refrigerated gazpacho in the United States, which could take this soup to new heights. Let’s discuss.
Alvalle Gazpacho
Yesterday, PepsiCo announced that it’s bringing Alvalle to the US. This ready-to-go gazpacho is primarily sold in Spain and several other European countries, but it seems that PepsiCo thinks there’s a gap in the US market for what it calls “refrigerated meal solutions” in its press release. “The way people eat continues to evolve, and we’re seeing growing demand for foods that combine convenience, quality and great taste,” said Marisa Perez, PepsiCo Foods US’ senior vice president and general manager of fresh experiences portfolio (what a job title). “Consumers are looking for simple, delicious options that fit seamlessly into their everyday lives, and Alvalle helps us meet them where they are today.”
Well, wherever you are today, you’ll be able to grab this refrigerator soup pretty soon. Alvalle is made with sun-ripened tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, and extra-virgin olive oil, all blended into a smooth-ish purée. The thought of a mass-produced gazpacho might be antithetical to the very vibe of this dish, but Alvalle generally gets pretty glowing reviews, with customers praising its freshness and its flavor’s vibrancy. So, we’re tentatively thinking this one might stick around – if it can find its audience in the US.
And It’s Out…Now? At The End Of Summer?
Yes, it is. Alvalle has launched in select Whole Foods locations around the country, and you can find it imminently. I’ll admit, it’s a strange time for a major food company to make a push with a product like this – we’ve only got a month or two until the weather turns, and few people will feel the siren call of a cooling gazpacho until next Spring – but hey, I don’t know how these things work! I’m just a lowly food writer. Either way, get it now.
