Retailers really want you to think about Thanksgiving. Like, right now. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen the battle of the meal deals: The majority of the major players in the grocery space have come out of the gate with their Thanksgiving bundles, each one promising good food at a good price. Yesterday, it was Costco’s turn (which is, incidentally, the most expensive one we’ve covered so far); before that, it was Aldi, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart. It’s safe to say you won’t be short on options this year.

Now, it’s Amazon’s turn. The online retailer has just announced its Thanksgiving meal deal, and it could well be the most inexpensive of the bunch.

Amazon Grocery Thanksgiving Meal

This year, Amazon Grocery is introducing a Thanksgiving meal – and the price is a real showstopper. It’s selling a bundle of Thanksgiving entrées, sides, and ingredients for just $25. Available now through November 26, Amazon Grocery is also offering free Same-Day delivery for orders of $25 or more – so if you’re buying this bundle, you’ll get it delivered at no extra cost.

Now, this price sounds suspiciously low, doesn’t it? What’s actually included? Well…a lot. For $25, you get an 8-pound Butterball frozen turkey, a can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, two McCormick gravy mix packets, two boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese, Stove Top turkey stuffing, Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup, French’s Crispy Fried Onions, and Nestlé Carnation Evaporated Milk. You also get five pounds of russet potatoes, two cans each of corn and green beans, a bag of carrots, eight crescent rolls, two pie crusts, and 15 ounces of pumpkin puree. This is undeniably a hefty batch of groceries for the price.

And How Does It Compare To The Rest?

Well – if we’re being totally honest, on a price level alone, it beats them. The next-cheapest of all the offers we’ve seen so far is from Walmart, which is promising to provide enough food to feed 10 people for $35. Amazon’s deal, though, provides many of the same items included in Walmart’s offer (although the quantities of some of them are a little lower here and there) – and where Walmart’s offering a Butterball frozen turkey at $0.97 per pound, Amazon’s offering one at a price as low as $0.79 per pound.

All of this, of course, relies on you wanting to buy groceries from Amazon. Its reputation when it comes to food isn’t quite in the same place as the likes of Walmart, Target, and Aldi, and it suffered a significant setback this year with the closure of its Amazon Fresh stores. Maybe these lower costs are a way of trying to get customers back on its side. Either way, all of these items are available now.
