My favorite breakfast candy cereal will always be Cinnamon Toast Crunch—partly because it doesn’t taste as sugary-sweet as some others (cough Fruity Pebbles cough). Plus, the cinnadust-infused milk at the bottom of the bowl? Undeniably the best part.
So you know I was excited when a bold and brave new Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor dropped. We’re talking about bacon-flavored Cinnamon Toast Crunch, created in collaboration with Hormel Black Label Bacon.
Bacon Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Haven’t we seen that before?
If you’re thinking, “Gee, that sounds familiar,” you’re probably remembering the Cinnamon Toast Crunch-flavored Hormel Black Label bacon that came out last year.Sadly, that collab didn’t quite stick the landing. In his review Sporked taster Griffin Parker noted there just wasn’t enough cinnadust flavor on the bacon itself. But hey, while CTC-flavored bacon was a miss, bacon-flavored Cinnamon Toast Crunch? That could still be a hit. Stay tuned for an official taste test!
Is this the only experimentative Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor?
CTC has been around since the ‘80s and there have been some great variations including fan favorites like sugar cookie, peanut butter, chocolate, and french toast. There have also been a few non traditional flavors, such as the pizza flavor released in collaboration with Totino’s.
What do early reviews of Bacon Cinnamon Toast Crunch say?
The internet is divided (what else is new), with some peeps really excited for a sweet and savory breakfast treat, while others are upset the flavor even exists. Most of us haven’t had a chance to try, given that the flavor literally just came out.
When did the Bacon Flavored CTC drop and how can I get it?
Bacon flavored CTC was released on July 8 and will only be available at Walmart at $5.84 for a limited time, so if you have a real hankering for some savory cereal, keep an eye on the Walmart shelves. (Or save up to buy a bagful on ebay.)
