Sporked Awards: Best Candy We Tasted in 2022

Candy comes in all shapes, sizes, and levels of sugar for all my keto peeps out there. In 2022, we here at Sporked ate our way through peanut butter cups, candy bars, lollipops, and taffy to find the one, the candy Neo of our dreams. Here is our pick for the best candy we tried in 2022, along with one runner-up that also shattered everything we know about candy.

This candy bar with the wacky label and quirky name snagged the top spot in our best candy bar ranking. Why? According to Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart, “This bar really has it all: a thin, delicate coating of chocolate; a slightly salty, peanut buttery flavor; a little bit of a crisp-rice crunch; and chew from the luscious caramel within. I don’t think anyone expected to like this sleeper hit as much as they did.” You’ve probably encountered Whatchamacallit many times in the checkout line, and you probably passed it up because you didn’t know what to expect. Well, we’re here to tell you that this bar is worth becoming your new favorite impulse buy. It’s everything we could want from a candy bar, all wrapped up into one chocolatey little package.

Fruity Pebbles Cereal ‘N Candy Eggs

This is a candy that we still find ourselves talking about in the Sporked office, even months after the initial taste test. For a cereal company, the product initially seemed very left field, but after trying the eggs, we can indeed confirm that Post and Frankford Candy know their audience. In our best easter candy ranking, Sporked staff writer Danny Palumbo wrote, “These silly new Fruity Pebbles Cereal ‘N Candy Eggs combine delicious and crunchy Fruity Pebbles with creamy white chocolate. Cereal and candy already make a ton of sense, but this really wowed the Sporked team. Everybody who tasted one immediately became sweet on these eggs.” This candy earned a solid nine Sporks and remains in our hearts to this day.

  • I loved Whatchamacallits since I was little a long time ago. Glad I’m not the only one who recognizes the greatness.
