The world of Costco frozen food is vast. You can easily get lost among the human-sized freezers, trying to decide between buying enough chicken tenders to feed a family reunion or stocking up on a summer’s worth of ice pops. And while much of the Costco frozen food selection is acceptable at the very least, it can be a huge letdown. And then what? You’re left with 25 oily frozen chicken tacos.
We’ve tasted a lot of Costco frozen food over the years, so allow us to be your guide to greatness. Here are the best frozen foods at Costco to buy. No more freezer regret!
- Kirkland Cheese Pizza with Breadcrumb Crust
-
If you’re hosting a bunch of kids (or grownups for that matter) and you need to feed them something fast, then you really can’t go wrong with Kirkland’s frozen cheese pizza. You get four large pizzas for just $12. And while they don’t cook up to be quite as good as the cheese pizza you can get from the Costco food court, it’s still good, classic cheese pizza. We’re talking a thick blanket of cheese and tangy tomato sauce.

- Synear Panda Bao Buns
-
Here’s a rare case of a cute food that looks adorable and actually tastes good. These little panda buns are filled with a subtly sweet custard that almost tastes like coconut—even though there’s no mention of coconut on the package. They look adorable—just like they look on the package. And they’re easy to make. They’re a fun, unique, and totally delightful buy and some of the best Costco frozen food available.

- Kirkland Italian Style Meatballs
-
These frozen meatballs are on the top of our frozen meatballs ranking, so of course they belong on our list of the best Costco frozen food. They’re the closest to homemade meatballs we tasted. They’re porky and fatty and spicy with good black pepper flavor. So many frozen meatballs are bland. These are not at all. Mix them with spaghetti, stuff them in a sub, or just put them out as appetizers with toothpicks and a dipping sauce. These are a freezer staple, and definitely some of the best Costco frozen food.

- Synear Pork Xiao Long Bao
-
Another hit from Synear. I am a freak for soup dumplings and these are some of the best frozen soup dumplings I’ve ever had outside of a restaurant. These pork-filled soup dumplings have tender skins that stay intact during steaming. The soup inside is cozy and not at all greasy. And the filling is perfectly seasoned. If you too are a soup dumpling fanatic, then this is definitely some of the best frozen food at Costco to buy.

- Kirkland Garlic Butter Shrimp
-
We all kind of flipped for these individually butter-coated and frozen shrimp. When you cook them, the frozen garlic butter around each shrimp melts into an obscenely buttery sauce. The shrimp stay tender. There’s just enough garlic. And the sauce. Is. So. Buttery. All that’s missing is some fresh-cooked spaghetti and you’ve got one hell of a dinner.

- Kirkland Tempura Shrimp
-
We thought we had it good with the Kirkland Garlic Butter Shrimp, but then we tried the Kirkland Tempura Shrimp. Holy hell. My colleague Gwynedd Stuart hit the nail on the head when she said these are better than what you get at a restaurant. I really think this might be the best Costco frozen food, period. The batter is ethereal, it’s so light. And the shrimp is nicely seasoned and firm. And the dipping sauce is great—like sweetened soy sauce. They come in a resealable bag, too, so you can take out as many as you want to air fry and then save the rest for another day with ease. I am absolutely obsessed.

- Kirkland Breaded Panko Shrimp
-
If we’ve learned anything by tasting all these frozen Costco foods, it’s that Costco knows its way around frozen shrimp. For those of you keeping track, three frozen Costco shrimp products made it onto our list of the best Costco frozen food. These panko-coated shrimp are huge and wonderfully crispy. Keep them in the freezer to toss into a salad or rice bowl or serve to guests or air fry up and eat alone at midnight (life is hard, you deserve a fried shrimp treat!).

- Cuisine Adventures Puff Pastry Bites
-
In the world of mini frozen appetizers, you can’t do better than this variety pack of frozen apps from Costco. You get four kinds of little puff pastry bites: Roasted Red Pepper & Cheddar, Spinach & Parmesan, Artichoke, Monterey Jack & Jalapeno, and Caramelized Onion & Ricotta. We’re particularly into the spinach ones and the caramelized onion nibbles. If you’re stocking up for a holiday party, this is definitely one of the best frozen foods at Costco.
