If I’ve learned anything from my past year at Sporked, it’s that Costco is absolutely, without a doubt, worth the membership. Yes, those Costco deals save you money (and time, since you can fit about five trips to the drug store in one Costco haul). But their in-house Kirkland brand is also responsible for some of the best pantry products and prepared deli foods I’ve tasted to date. Choosing the top two best Costco products from a whole year of tasting Costco products was much harder than I thought it would be. But here are the winners.

- Kirkland Signature Organic Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
-
Kirkland Signature Organic Balsamic Vinegar is sweet, tangy, creamy, and comes in a bottle so big, you’ll be drizzling for days. Thanks to the built-in pour spout, adding it to salads, roasted veggies, and ripe fruit slices is a breeze. Kirkland’s balsamic balances a bold tang with a beautifully creamy finish, and for the price, it’s an unbeatable deal. I’m also pleased to report that it inspired one of the best dad-puns our editor-in-chief Justine Sterling has made to date: “Forget about bang for your buck, this balsamic gives you tang for your buck.” Some genius can’t be taught, folks.

- Kirkland Cinnamon Coffee Cake
-
Adventuring through the aisles of Costco’s show-stopping bakery is not for the weak. You need some strong self-discipline to keep from piling those cakes, breakfast pastries, and cult-favorite chocolate chip cookies into your industrial-sized cart. And if you don’t have strong self-discipline (which, relatable), here’s what to do: Put on your shopping blinders and only grab Kirkland’s Cinnamon Coffee Cake. It’s heavenly. With thick, crunchy, cinnamon-studded streusel on top and a soft, fluffy, freshly baked coffee cake that cuts like butter, you won’t be wanting for anything else. To quote myself: “This alone is worth the membership.”
