The best frozen bean and cheese burrito is simple, hearty, and cheesy. And I know the best bean and cheese burritos because they’re one of my favorite foods. I think bean and cheese burritos are one of the best foods on planet Earth. They are one of my top three desert island meals. Are you getting it? I love bean and cheese burritos!
It’s no surprise that I was not only thrilled but fully prepared and qualified to lead this taste test. Luckily, there are tons of great frozen bean and cheese burrito options at the grocery store! After spending a few hours with my microwave, I was able to determine which frozen bean and cheese burritos deserve to take up space in your freezer and which don’t need to make their way into your grocery cart at all.

- Saffron Road Bean & Cheese Artisan Wrap
-
Saffron Road’s Bean & Cheese Artisan Wrap doesn’t even call itself a burrito, but we still counted it because it looks like a burrito and I don’t know what an “artisan wrap” is. I wouldn’t necessarily reach for this when I’m craving a frozen bean and cheese burrito, but that doesn’t mean it’s not absolutely delicious. It’s very filling, really cheesy, and well-seasoned. This feels like a treat you’d get from a fusion food truck and not something that sits in your freezer.

- Amy’s Gluten Free, Non-Dairy Beans & Rice Burrito
-
Needless to say, I’m shocked. No gluten or dairy?! Those are my two favorite things! But somehow Amy’s managed to make a gluten-free, dairy-free frozen bean burrito that actually tastes really good. And wait until you actually taste it to make a call on whether or not you like it. I thought the tortilla looked like absolute garbage when I opened the package, but I had to literally and figuratively eat my words. This frozen bean burrito was much better than a lot of the ones we tried that were full of gluten and dairy.

- Evol Bean Rice & Cheddar Burrito
-
Evol’s Bean Rice & Cheddar burrito is really interesting and super tasty. The filling is very tomato-y in a way that I loved, even as a person who doesn’t always love tomatoes. It doesn’t taste like there are chopped tomatoes in the mix, but instead like savory tomato paste is stirred in with the beans and cheese and rice. If you get what I’m saying, great. If you don’t, just go buy one of these bean and cheese frozen burritos. You will like it!

- Red’s Organic Bean & Cheese Burrito
-
Red’s Bean & Cheese Burrito was not only one of the best frozen burritos we tried, it is also 100% vegetarian. Plus, it’s jam-packed with cheesy, hearty filling. My only issue is that this says “bean & cheese burrito” but it is actually a bean, rice, and cheese burrito. That being said, this burrito could convert me into a rice-filled burrito lover. It’s that good!

- Ramona’s Bean & Cheese Burrito
-
I wish I could meet Ramona and thank her for her absolutely incredible frozen bean and cheese burrito. First of all, there is no rice in this burrito. That is the way it should be. A bean, rice, and cheese burrito is fine, but a bean and cheese burrito is perfect. I’m not scared of beans. Give me more beans! Ramona understands my stance on this and provides a cheesy, beany, flavorful burrito that is easily the best frozen bean and cheese burrito we tried.
