All the Knorr Sauce Mixes, Ranked

The best Knorr sauce mixes taste like a sauce made from scratch, but take a fraction of the effort. Knorr sauce packets are extremely nostalgic for me. My dad would make pasta dishes with them for dinner all the time when I was growing it. They’re quick, flavorful, and versatile, so they were perfect for my working parents.

Even if you have all the time in the world, I’d still recommend some of these Knorr sauce mixes! Each Knorr sauce mix is unique, however, so you have to know which ones are actually worth adding to your grocery list. To help, I ranked every Knorr sauce packet from worst to best, including Knorr pesto sauce mix, Knorr creamy pesto, Knorr Hollandaise sauce, and more.

KNORR!

Alfredo

This is the only Knorr sauce mix I really didn’t enjoy. It’s very one-note and has a little bit of a weird aftertaste. It’s not terrible, but it isn’t anywhere near as delicious as the rest of the Knorr sauce packets. I would probably just purchase a jar of alfredo sauce if I had a hankering for the stuff.

Pesto

While I (kind of) enjoyed the flavor, Knorr pesto sauce mix is a total oil slick. You have to use so much oil to make it and it tastes incredibly oily as a result. It leaves your mouth feeling absolutely coated. This is another time the Knorr sauce mix can’t live up to the prepared version of the product. Spend your money on jarred pesto because this is one of the few Knorr sauce mixes you should leave on the shelf.

Hollandaise

On a scale from bad to tasty, Knorr Hollandaise sauce mix lands right in the middle. This is definitely easier and quicker than making Hollandaise sauce from scratch and it tastes totally fine. On the other hand, it certainly doesn’t taste as good as the hollandaise you get at a restaurant. If you need emergency eggs benedict, this Knorr sauce packet will get the job done.

Bearnaise

I would happily serve this Knorr sauce packet of bearnaise sauce alongside a steak. It’s rich, creamy, and salty. This would also be wonderful on asparagus, green beans, or mashed potatoes. Get the steak house vibe at home with this Knorr sauce mix.

Creamy Pesto

Why would you ever buy the regular Knorr pesto sauce mix when Knorr creamy pesto exists? It’s the superior pesto-based Knorr sauce packet! It is luxuriously creamy and beautifully herby. This would be so delicious over pasta or chicken. I ate it off a spoon and loved it that way, too. When it comes to Knorr sauce mixes, this is a must-buy.

Garlic & Herb

Garlic & Herb is easily one of the best Knorr sauce packets. It is so salty (and I mean that in a good way). Skip their alfredo and use this to make a creamy pasta dinner. Take it to the next level by adding some sauteed shrimp. People will literally think they’re eating at a restaurant.

Parma Rosa

You simply cannot top the Parma Rosa Knorr sauce mix. It’s like Knorr Garlic & Herb and Knorr Creamy Pesto had a baby, and sundried tomatoes were also involved somehow. It’s thick and rich and a little acidic. The tomato flavor is almost sweet. This isn’t just the best Knorr sauce packet, it’s also the most interesting!
