Sporked Awards: Best Spicy Food We Tasted in 2022

When it comes to spicy foods, the world is your oyster (shooter with lots of Tabasco). Grocery stores are filled with spice! Whether you’re looking for hot sauce, frozen wings, or the “hot” version of your favorite products, you have more options than ever in 2022. I adore spicy food and the sensation of it absolutely destroying my taste buds. These two products left a lasting burn that we just couldn’t forget, and that’s why they are the best spicy foods we tried in 2022.

Winner!

Momofuku Extra Spicy Chili Crisp

Momofuku’s Extra Spicy Chili Crisp was the best super spicy chili crisp we tried in our chili crisp taste test. Not only is it actually really spicy, but it is also incredibly flavorful. As I reflect on the past year I spent tasting food at Sporked, this is one of the products I remember most vividly. This would be incredible in the viral TikTok egg recipe or drizzled over one of our favorite tofus. With this much texture and flavor, it’s really all you need to turn any dish into a fiery favorite at mealtime.

Runner-Up!

Samyang Buldak Korean Hot Spicy Chicken Stir-Fried Ramyun Noodles

Samyang has a huge selection of spicy instant ramyun noodles, but their Korean hot spicy chicken version made it to the top of our list of the best instant ramens. It is so spicy that it burns your lips as you slurp it up. The sauce packet they give you is huge so you get plenty of fiery sauce to cook your noodles and whatever else you want to add to your bowl. And not only is the sauce great, but the noodles are also wonderfully chewy. These will be in my pantry from here on out.
