Best Things We Ate This Week (August 14-18)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Cholula Salsa Verde

I was worried this would be just a gimmick, but I was so wrong. This is a top-tier salsa verde. It’s herby and fresh and tangy. It looks like Cholula can make hot sauce and salsa!

Pan’s Salt & Pepper Mushroom Jerky

Vegan jerky can be really hit or miss and this is a huge hit. It has a jerky-like texture while maintaining a nice mushroomy flavor. I would take this over fake meat jerky any day. The only weird thing is that most of the flavors sort of taste the same, but this one was our favorite.

Extra Stuf Oreo Thins

I want all Oreos to be Extra Stuf with thin cookies. It’s the exact ratio you want of creme to cookie. After our taste test, I will only be buying these moving forward. Thank you.

Newman’s Own Stone-Fired Crust Quattro Formaggi Pizza

The crust on this Newman’s Own pizza really tastes stone-fired as promised. If you told me this was from a restaurant, I’d believe you. The crust is pillowy and light and has huge air bubbles in it. Why are y’all making other types of pizza, Newman’s? All you need to do is make these!

Cotton Blues Salted Caramel Cheesecake

This is the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. It is the perfect amount of rich and sweet without being sickening. It has a little saltiness to it. The crust in simply unbelievable. They sell these perfect cheesecakes on Goldbelly and in grocery store freezers across the U.S. Wow, I wish I had another one to eat right now.
