Good news: It’s easier than ever to be vegan. Well, at least when it comes to having plenty of options—the inflation of grocery prices is another issue. Looking back on 2024, we seemed to find a new vegan product that genuinely wow’d us every month. Like Daring’s plant-based chicken pieces, Craig’s Killa’ Vanilla vegan ice cream, and even some shockingly delicious additions to our list of vegan turkey roasts for Thanksgiving. It was harder than you’d think to narrow down our favorite vegan products from the year to just two. But we did it!

- IKEA’s Vegan Meatballs
-
Who knew some of the best vegan products were hiding in IKEA’s grocery department? While there’s plenty of hidden plant-based gems at this superstore, their vegan meatballs can’t be beat. They’re smaller in size, which I actually think makes them more addictive (I could easily eat a dozen) and incredibly savory, but they aren’t trying very hard to closely mimic meat. That’s why we love them so much, believe it or not. They have a freshness and slight vegetal quality that doesn’t taste like man’s latest attempt to engineer fake sustenance. When cooked right, they’re nice and tender on the bite. These are genuinely comforting to eat, and absolutely worth the hike through IKEA’s labyrinth of home goods.

- Impossible Corn Dogs
-
Many people on plant-based diets have experienced the beauty of a cult-classic Morningstar Corn Dog—but according to our managing editor Gwynedd Stuart, these Impossible Corn Dogs are even better. Their firm, golden batter tastes like a freshly fried corn dog you’d order at a sports bar. The savory frankfurter spices in the Impossible meat tastes impossibly like the real deal. And unlike most veggie corn dogs, the texture thankfully steers clear of being too soft and mushy. These totally stuck the landing, and we’re proud to name them the best vegan product we tried of the year.
