The best vegan ranch dressing is creamy, herby, and tangy. You know, just like regular ranch dressing! Ideally, you shouldn’t be able to tell the difference between plant based ranch dressing and classic, dairy-based ranch dressing.
There are so many options for store-bought vegan ranch dressing at grocery stores today. We got every bottle we could get our hands on and tasted them all to determine which are actually worth buying. And it’s good we did! Some of these plant based ranch dressings are really bad. The dressings below, however, put a smile on our faces. Go buy the best store bought vegan ranch dressing and make a vegan buffalo chicken salad, stat!
- Hidden Valley Plant Powered Spicy Ranch
-
In terms of plant based ranch dressing, this is good. It’s not great, but it’s good. If you’re looking for a spicy vegan ranch, this is the only one I can recommend. It actually has a kick and is super creamy. I think this could be good on a buffalo chick’n wrap or as a dip for vegan pizza. It’s a great option if you really want spicy ranch dressing and only spicy ranch dressing.

- Gotham Greens Vegan Ranch
-
This is delicious, but it doesn’t taste like ranch. Instead it is an exact dupe for caesar dressing. Caesar dressing’s most prominent ingredients are egg and anchovy, so it can be difficult for brands to pull off a convincing vegan version. Gotham Greens has hacked it, though! One taste of this and I was running out to buy some vegan chicken patties to make a chicken caesar wrap. Ultimately, we were looking for the best vegan ranch dressing in this taste test, so we couldn’t put it near the top of the list. But even though it missed the mark on ranch, we had to include it because it is so freaking delicious.

- Simple Truth Plant Based Ranch Dressing
-
This Simple Truth ranch rides the line of creamy Italian dressing and ranch, and we are not mad about it at all. It is so tangy and herby. What sets it apart from the other plant based ranch dressing we tried is the fact that it’s not super creamy. It’s like a cross between a creamy dressing and a vinaigrette, so if ranch vinaigrette sounds good to you, buy this! It’s definitely one of the best vegan ranch dressing brands we tried.

- Follow Your Heart High Omega Vegan Ranch
-
Follow Your Heart is such a good vegan brand. We pretty much always love their cheeses and salad dressings. Their products always manage to capture an authentic dairy creaminess. This vegan ranch dressing is no different. It’s great! This is so thick and creamy that it gives off salad bar ranch vibes. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, get yourself to a Sizzler now!

- Sprouts Plant Based Ranch
-
The best vegan ranch dressing we tried was from Sprouts, a grocery store that doesn’t always get the love it deserves. Their vegan ranch is super creamy and herby. It also has a great tang to it. I would have no idea this was plant based ranch if I didn’t see the label. Whether you are trying to cut out dairy or you just want to taste some dang good ranch, grab a bottle of this because it’s the best vegan ranch dressing we tasted.

Longtime Mythical Beast, and have semi frequented sporked articles when they come on my timeline- but this is the first time I thought to SEEK OUT a Sporked article for something (ie the most important condiment !) I hope more people are starting to do this too because it’s always so helpful. The way you construct your articles to include different people’s tastes and preferences is so refreshing. Y’all are such great and considerate writers/testers.
Keep it up! And thanks for the ranch rec!!!
