For a brand founded in 2017, Waterlooโs speedy rise to A-list fame as a seltzer brand, right up there with big shots like La Croix and Polar, took us all by surprise. While this isnโt my personal favorite seltzer brand (Iโm a Polar girl through and through), I have serious respect for them. I find that the best Waterloo flavors have a nice, even fizz, deep fruitiness that doesnโt taste fake (with notable exceptions), and unique flavor blends that stand out from the competition. Hereโs what we recommend.

- Waterloo Grape
-
Grape Waterloo is easily the most divisive pick to make this list. Every sip tastes like someone chucked grape candy at my face and spat on me. Does it make me a masochist if I enjoyed it? Maybe. Other grape seltzers are too afraid to go thereโnot Waterloo. Itโs pungently grape-y, but still pretty smooth and not at all sweet. I actually prefer this to some sugary grape sodas, but when it comes to universal appeal, this is not the best Waterloo flavor to pick up.

- Waterloo Orange Vanilla
-
Youโre going to see me compare Waterloo to Polar a couple of times in this ranking, and Iโm sorry about that. (The Polar taste test is just so fresh in my mind.) Let me be clear: Every single person who tried Waterlooโs Orange Vanilla enjoyed it. How could they not? Itโs an ice-cold, fizzy, cozy creamsicle in sparkling water form. But it does not hold a candle to Polarโs Orange Vanilla, and thatโs where I have to dock points. The balance of flavors is almost perfect, but the vanilla is a tad too artificially sweet. To most people, though, thatโs barely noticeable, so Iโm comfortable recommending it as one of the best Waterloo flavors anyway.

- Waterloo Cherry Limeade
-
Fine, fine, Iโll say it: I like this better than Polarโs Cherry Limeade. Iโm sorry. Where Polarโs is bold and tart, this blend is very subtle and laid-back. The mellow lime finish really curbs any lingering medicinal hints of cherryโthat means you can drink this cherry beverage without that weird aftertaste coating your mouth, which is huge. Still, if you avoid cherry in general, please just skip this instead of buying it, hating it, and yelling at me in the comments. While I enjoy a good scolding from strangers now and then (like I said: masochist), why waste your money and time?

- Waterloo Tropical Fruit
-
Fruit punch has always been a hard sell for me, even as a kid. Itโs hard to find something so brazenly tart, tangy, and sugary to be actually refreshing. But this Waterloo flavor is like the refined adult version of that nostalgic, mouth-staining juice box. (I think itโs the pineapple; the pineapple really mellows it out.)

- Waterloo Ruby Red Tangerine
-
Ruby Red Tangerine has a zingy but fairly mellow grapefruit flavor up front and finishes on smooth tangerine. If youโre thinking, hmm, that still sounds too bitter and tartโnope! The natural sweetness of the tangerine (which, believe it or not, tastes like real tangerine) creates a gentle harmony with the grapefruit. The zang to the grapefruitโs zing, if you will. If you like a balanced citrus kick, this might be the best Waterloo flavor for you.

- Waterloo Lemon Lime
-
The lemon and lime in this Waterloo seltzer exist in some kind of beautiful, perpetual song and dance. Both flavors are equally present, washing over your taste buds like a wave. Itโs hypnotic. Transformative. Iโm not sure Iโm even at work right now; Iโm at a beach, sipping a Margarita, listening to the ocean.

- Waterloo Blackberry Lemonade
-
Blackberry Lemonade is the dark horse of the best Waterloo flavors. When I sipped it, I thought it was pretty refreshingโฆ and then I sort of forgot about it in favor of the grabbier, bolder flavors. But as soon as I came back to it, I knew: Thereโs something really special about this little can. Itโs a departure from the other bright, vibrant, fruity flavors in favor of something more mysterious and crisp, with a fresh blackberry flavor that isnโt too tart or bitter in the slightest.

- Waterloo Raspberry Nectarine
-
Choosing the absolute best Waterloo flavor was tough, yโall. Seltzer preferences are incredibly subjective, and Waterloo knows what itโs doing. But itโs rare for a flavor to be both creative, original, and universally appealing, and thatโs precisely why I think Raspberry Nectarine as the best flavor of Waterloo. I havenโt had anything else like it, and literally every single person who tried it brightened upon first sip.
