Last month, I gave Bloom’s Crisp Apple Sparkling Energy an honorable mention in my list of 2025’s best energy drinks. That opinion must be pop-ular, because Bloom is now bringing back Crisp Apple for good. (Are Wicked references still in vogue?) Yes, Bloom Energy’s fan-favorite limited edition flavor from summer 2025 has returned to shelves permanently. For a brand with only a few permanent flavors to begin with, this is a major move. Read on for more info on how Bloom grew to this point — and what’s coming next. This one’s for all the Bloom fans out there. (Bloomheads? Bloomers? Call me, Greg; we’ll workshop it.)

What is Bloom Energy?

Bloom Energy is one of our fastest-growing energy drink brands. For reference, the brand sold a million cans in their first month. If you’ve seen this drink on shelves, it was most likely at Target. Bloom Supplements is a woman-owned, women-targeted company; Target is a perfect fit for the fun, bubbly energy drink brand. (Here’s hoping Bloom contributes a flavor for this year’s edition of my “every holiday energy drink at Target” list; their expertise was sorely missed in that disappointing lineup.)

Did I say Bloom was an “energy drink brand?” My bad, because Bloom actually released a prebiotic soda line last year as well. Judging by the sneak peeks I got from the brand at last year’s NACS Expo, we’ll have plenty more Bloom flavors to write about throughout this year. (Seriously, Bloom’s summer 2026 prebiotic pop release was one of my favorite samples I tried all weekend at NACS Expo. Stay tuned for that as review as soon as my official samples come in.) I’m glad their version of the energy drink flavor of the year is sticking around while we wait.

Was crisp apple really the flavor of the year?

For energy drinks, there’s no doubt that apple shined last year. Remember that “best energy drinks of 2025” list I mentioned earlier? 40% of the entries, including the overall best in show, were apple-flavored —specifically red varieties of apple. Between Bad Apple Monster Juice and Red Bull Fuji Apple & Ginger, 2025 really taught us that green apple is out and red apple is in.
