Stop the presses: Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts are returning to shelves. A few days ago, @CerealLife posted a product image, giving us a great look at the Fantastic Four: First Steps-branded packaging and pastries. But what is a Blue Raspberry Pop-Tart? Will they be any different from a regular Raspberry Pop-Tart? Let’s get into all the details.

Are Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts new?

No! As best I can determine from early YouTube reviews, Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts debuted for the first time in 2015. The flavor disappeared for an unknown amount of time before returning in 2019 as Mer-Mazing Blue Raspberry, with mermaid imagery printed on the frosting. Following that release, Blue Raspberry returned to the Pop-Tart vault, never to be seen again—until now.

As for whether Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts taste materially different from regular Raspberry Pop-Tarts, I’ll be saving that revelation for my next Pop-Tart review coming to Sporked as soon as I can get my hands on these heroic new pastries.

What will these new Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts look like?

Per the box, the pastries will feature at least two (probably more) Fantastic Four-themed designs printed onto the frosting. This is a pretty common gimmick for modern Pop-Tarts—most recently seen on the “No Chill” Sugar Cookie flavor. If I had to guess, we’ll see four designs total considering the eponymous film-tie in.

When can I try this for myself?

Unfortunately, there’s no confirmed release date just yet. That said, the movie launches in late July, so I’d expect to see these hit shelves sometime next month. Keep an eye on the shockingly-active Pop-Tarts Instagram account for official release info. Walmart is a reliable source of new/limited-edition Pop-Tarts, so if you’re really trying to hunt this down, I’d start looking there first.
