This year, Burger King has been on a crusade to do something that we truly appreciate. Rather than releasing a legion of new products to fill the menus with things we’ve never heard of before and don’t recognize, they are instead of focusing their attention on the things that they are already known and loved for. Burger King has been paying extra attention to their Whoppers by improving their ingredients and packaging, as well as introducing the Whopper Guarantee, where the manager is dedicated to making sure that your whopper comes out exactly as you ordered it and lives up to all expectations.

But one of the most exciting things that happen at Burger King this year had nothing to do with burgers at all. Instead, it was when they completely remade their nuggets to be something so much improved they should probably change their name to Chicken King. Whether or not they executed that is still up for debate, and our official Sporked review is coming soon.

Regardless, they completely overhauled their recipe to be an all-white meat chicken nugget with improved flavor, batter, and crispiness. Not only did the launch include brand new sauces to hype them up, but just recently, they announced an extra fashionable accessory to encourage people to try out the new nuggets as well.

Le Nuguette

Now you may have heard of Fendi, and you may have heard of the Fendi Baguette Bag, but Burger King is taking the release of these new nuggets to a whole new level of creativity with the limited-edition release of Le Nuguette. It’s pronounced as though you combine the words nugget and baguette, of course, and it looks like they’ve combined the two as well. If you exaggerate the silhouette of a baguette bag it resembles the shape of a chicken nugget, as it turns out. And if you replace the silk and sequins with chicken-nugget brown suede then all of a sudden you have a bag that looks practically edible.

This bag is a micro-sized bag and is almost guaranteed to be impractical. As the company says, it’s a nugget-sized bag, so I guess it’s actually pretty appropriate for high fashion standards of practicality. And there are even extra opportunities for accessorizing your bag since the purchase comes with one of the four sauce charms that represent the new and improved sauces Burger King launched. The bag is also embossed with a metal “BK” logo on the bottom corner of the bag, so there shouldn’t be any confusion as to who you’re repping.

Everybody Loves Free Stuff

We could go on and on about the kitsch and cutesy nature of this intersection of fashion and food, but we haven’t even scratched the surface of why this is an interesting launch. I feel like most companies would use the release of something like this to make as much profit as possible. But BK doesn’t work like that. Instead, the purchase of one of these bags will only cost you as much as one order of the new nuggets, $3.99. And, it comes with a voucher for an order of nuggets tucked inside.

Since the bag is practically free, there simply has to be some catch to this situation. And there is. Only 100 of these bags are being release a day for five days. Between September 12 and September 16, 100 bags will be available for purchase at noon (EST) on lenugguettebk.com. Run quick folks, these are going to go quick.
