What word would you use to describe food sold at 7-Eleven? “Sophisticated” probably isn’t the first one that comes to mind, right? No, no. We all know that 7-Elevens are about convenience, speed, and picking up items that will see the length of a road trip (and maybe even a couple of days, or weeks, beyond that).
Few foods embody those characteristics as well as Twinkies, those famously nuclear-proof snacks (which don’t actually last forever, just in case you were wondering) – and this year, 7-Eleven’s making its relationship with Twinkies official. It’s recently been revealed by @markie_devo over on Instagram that Hostess and 7-Eleven have teamed up to create a brand-new, limited-edition Twinkie flavor, which has just hit stores. Here’s what we know.
Sweet Treat Cappuccino Twinkies Will Be Available For A Limited Time
Hostess’s and 7-Eleven’s new Sweet Treat Cappuccino Twinkies appear to attempt to bridge the gap between snack and beverage. Encased in the classic Twinkie sponge is a creamy cappuccino-flavored filling, which is, it should be noted, artificially flavored. We’d imagine you probably won’t be expecting anything else from a Twinkie, but hey, it’s worth mentioning all the same, just in case you thought they’d pivoted to a much more natural way of doing things here.
As Instagrammer @rednecksnack revealed, as the first person to go public with having found these Twinkies in-store, this snack really looks the same as any other Twinkie, with the same size and proportions. It comes in a two-pack, so if you don’t get enough of the cappuccino creme the first time, round two’s waiting for ya. As well as being available in 7-Elevens, you can also pick up this new flavor at Speedway and Stripes.
This Twinkie Is Just One In A Long Line Of Unique Flavors
Hostess has previous form when it comes to mixing up its Twinkies, and its Sweet Treat Cappuccino flavor is the latest in its snack innovations. Back in 2022, the company released Tropical Blue Twinkies, which were flavored with a vague “tropical-flavored fruit creme.” It followed these up with Mystery Flavored Twinkies in 2024, and then collaborated with R.M. Palmer last year to make a pretty wild Twinkies candy bar.
In comparison to all of those, its new cappuccino-flavored outing feels relatively low-key – and snackers have already started to think up ways that they can use them. “I’m kinda tempted to make a tiramisu with these,” said a comment on markie_devo’s post, which honestly sounds pretty great. Other customers have stated that these Twinkies actually taste pretty good, with the coffee flavor remaining relatively muted and not too overwhelming, and pointing out that their taste is “almost more like pancake-y.” As a version of this snack that certainly feels more breakfast-focused, this makes a lot of sense. Interested? Make sure you grab it before it’s gone, as who knows how long it’ll be available for.
