These Famous Chefs Have Just Dropped A Bunch Of Frozen Meals

If the modern world has shown us one thing, it’s how big a business empire celebrity chefs can build. The sprawling size of the ventures that people like Gordon Ramsay, Guy Fieri, and Ina Garten have created is remarkable: TV shows and cookbooks, sure, but also cookware, dinnerware, kitchen tools, product endorsements, podcasts, and more have been created and delivered by these stars. That shows no sign of stopping, either: This year, we’ve seen new Flavortown sauces and drinks from Fieri, new sauces from Momofuku (which is inseparable from its founder, David Chang), and plenty besides those.

This week, though, we heard of a bumper crop of new celebrity chef meals dropping in Kroger and Meijer. And yes: Some of them are from Guy Fieri. 

New Celebrity Chef Frozen Meals

According to @markie_devo, nine new chef-branded frozen skillet meals are on their way exclusively to Kroger and Meijer stores, with some of them available in both, and some in just one or the other. Gordon Ramsay, Esther Choi, and the Flavortown mayor himself, Guy Fieri, are the faces of these new options. Let’s break them down, chef by chef:

Guy Fieri

Fieri’s the most prolific of the three chefs here, with four frozen skillet meals under his Flavortown umbrella:

• Philly Cheesesteak Fried Rice: Available at both Kroger and Meijer, this curious concoction combines fried rice with a cheese sauce (not too sure about that one, Mr. Fieri, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise!), bell peppers, onions, and beef steak strips. 
• Kickin’ Jalapeño Citrus Chicken: White rice with grilled white chicken, broccoli, jalapeño slices, and an orange citrus sauce. This one’s a Kroger exclusive.
• Deluxe Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese: Available only at Meijer, cavatappi pasta is combined with burger-style cheese sauce, beef topping, tomatoes, and onions. 
• Cajun Style Grilled Chicken Alfredo Pasta: Rigatoni, grilled white chicken, onions, and tomatoes in a Cajun-style cream sauce. Available at Meijer.

Gordon Ramsay

Kroger and Meijer customers are getting three options from Chef Ramsay:

• Beef Merlot: Available at Kroger and Meijer, this meal mixes tender beef with roasted red potatoes, carrots, and peas in a Merlot wine sauce.
• Chicken Piccata Pasta with Spinach: Another dual offering (ie., in both stores), this one’s a combo of mafalda pasta, grilled white chicken, capers, and spinach in a white wine lemon sauce.  
• Chicken Alfredo: A Meijer exclusive. Fettuccine, grilled white chicken, broccoli, tomatoes, and spicy(!) Alfredo sauce. 

Esther Choi

Finally, we have two new options from Esther Choi, both available at Kroger:

• Sesame Chicken: Chicken, Asian noodles, fire-roasted corn, green onions, and red bell peppers are combined in a Gochujang sauce.
• Beef & Broccoli: Seasoned beef, broccoli, and bok choy in a Bulgogi sauce. Both of these meals sound delicious, quite frankly.

No word yet on whether any of these options will make it to other stores. For now, Kroger and Meijer are where it’s at.
