Chipotle is revamping its rewards program. First things first: Yes, it’s completely free. Yes, you are automatically enrolled in it if you already have a preexisting Chipotle rewards account. Now let’s talk about the new perks.

Chipotle’s new “Rewards on Repeat” program will give you:
- Free chips and guac just for joining
- FREEPOTLE is back! Chipotle’s monthly free food drops were always a fan favorite, and now they’re officially coming back for rewards members.
- Choose your own birthday reward—you get to pick between free guac, chips, queso, or a drink. (I picked the guac. Obviously.)
- Surprise challenges that give you more rewards points and early access to new menu items
- Rewards points don’t expire as long as you make one qualifying purchase a yaer.
That last one is a pretty big change. Chipotle is still sticking with 10 points per $1 spent, but those points used to expire after 180 days of inactivity. They basically doubled the expiration deadline, which is nice for people like me! I frequently forget to use rewards apps despite having a dedicated folder on my iPhone for all of them. Sigh. Will I ever learn?
Chipotle is also promising a lower points threshold to redeem freebies and deals.
So it should, in theory, cost less to get free items. And they’re adding new deals to their rewards exchange—notably, 50% off an entrée will now be an option you can redeem.
My takeaway here is that good things are happening at Chipotle. Now they just need to make their new Cilantro Lime Sauce a permanent edition to the menu and bring back Red Chimichurri, and we’ll really be in business. (What will it take, Chipotle? Hmm? What’s a girl gotta do? I’ve got feet pics ready to go…)
