Deck the halls with cans of soda: We’ve got the early details on a brand new Coca-Cola variant hitting shelves later this year. This winter, Coca-Cola will debut a Holiday Vanilla Cream variant for all the good kids across the country. Let’s get into all your burning questions before Santa realizes how naughty we’re being by leaking this news early. (Let’s be real, Santa’s definitely on the Coke payroll; he’s in, like, a billion of their commercials.)
A new holiday Coke without cinnamon?
Coca-Cola must have finally gotten my letters because we are finally getting a holiday Coke release sans cinnamon. I don’t know about y’all, but I was never a fan of Coca-Cola Cinnamon. Not to sound like the whitest person alive, but Coca-Cola is spicy enough. This is definitely a departure from Coke’s previous holiday releases, and I’m super excited to see how it turns out.
Is this another discontinued soda revival like Diet Cherry Coke or Diet Coke Lime?
Unlike the Diet Cherry Coke and Diet Coke Lime revivals coming this summer, Coca-Cola Holiday Vanilla Cream is a brand new formula. That said, it isn’t hugely groundbreaking—you can go over to any grocery store today and find Coca-Cola Vanilla and Coca-Cola Orange Cream. This feels like most new Taco Bell menu items: It’s a couple ingredients we already know in a slightly different arrangement.
Is this a permanent addition to Coke’s flavor lineup?
As you might guess by the word “Holiday” in the name, this will be a limited-time-only flavor offering. Per the internal graphic I was sent, we can expect this to hit shelves starting in November. There’s no end date, so this may be a super-limited “we made one batch so you better find it fast” kind of release.
Where can I find Coca-Cola Vanilla Cream?
This will not be retailer-exclusive. Coca-Cola Holiday Vanilla Cream will be sold wherever fine Coca-Cola products are sold—aka, literally everywhere. This flavor will be released in both 20oz bottles and 12oz can 12-packs, the standard pairing.
UPDATE: Zero sugar will be available!
We’ve got good news for folks concerned about their sugar intake. Following the initial publication of this article, I received information to support that Coca-Cola Vanilla Cream will be sold in full and zero sugar. A zero-sugar whipped cream-flavored cola feels a little backwards, but they’ve got my money no matter what. Hooray, options!
