You’ll Need A Sweet Tooth For Coffee Mate’s New Releases

It can sometimes feel like coffee creamers and the people who make them will do anything in their power to stop your drink from tasting like actual coffee. Don’t get me wrong: Creamers can be delicious, fun, surprising, a great way to add a little bit of zhuzh to your morning drink – take your pick. But increasingly, food companies seem to be leaning into the unexpected…and if you don’t like sugar, well, good luck to ya.

We’ve seen evidence of this yet again, with a dual release from Coffee Mate that will turn your coffee into a bona fide dessert. Two creamers, one old and one new, are on their way to stores – and we’ve got the lowdown here.

You Just Might Need A Lay Down Afterwards…

Instagram snack account @candyhunting has just revealed that Coffee Mate has two creamers headed to stores soon, in Banana Bread and Snickerdoodle flavors. The former flavor is brand new, and while the latter is a returning one, it’s never stuck around for that long: It first debuted in 2015 and has been brought back several times as a limited-time offer. 

Both of these creamers will be sold in 32 oz. sizes, a fact that has left some people in @candyhunting’s comment section a little, shall we say, dismayed. “Begging them to make these in smaller sizes as someone who only uses a tablespoon,” said one person (although others pointed out that these things rarely go bad that quickly). Folks are clearly very excited about the banana bread flavor here, and you know what? I don’t blame ‘em. Yes, it’ll be sweet as all hell, but I bet it’ll taste good. 

Sweetness And Light(?)

Coffee Mate’s new creamer flavors fall in line with what I guess we could call a minor trend, or rather, a push towards sweeter, more left-field flavors in processed cream products. This has been most evident in the last few months in whipped toppings: May and June have brought us a Snickers-flavored whipped topping and a gummy worm-flavored option, respectively. Out there stuff. No word just yet on when these Coffee Mate products will hit stores, but it likely won’t be too long.
