The food court staple, which has stayed at a perennial $1.50 for over four decades now, is pretty central to the store’s marketing and has become emblematic of the retailer’s value-for-money offer (even if – and whisper this with us now – Ikea’s hot dog is way longer). And in the first few months of 2026, Costco’s hot dog has had a lot of attention on it, whether that’s because of its CEO using it to take shots at other fast food execs, or because of fan-made tie-in products that let you carry your dog with much more ease.

This next reason for attention, though, might be our favorite yet. Costco shoppers have recently been spotting a hot dog-themed bourbon in its stores, and we’re obsessed. Yes, that’s right. Hot dog. Bourbon. Here’s what we know.

Made by Rare Character Whiskey, Costco’s I Got That Dog In Me Bourbon is pretty wild. The single-barrel Kentucky bourbon comes in a 750-milliliter bottle and is adorned with a picture of Costco’s hot dog, as it’s seen on the food court menu. One Costco shopper posted about its presence in their Washington, D.C. store on Reddit, where it was priced at $85.99, and the internet promptly lost its mind. So far, it seems as though it may be a D.C. exclusive – well, that’s if the responses from the other Costco customers in the thread were anything to go by, as people duly reported that they couldn’t find it in their local stores.

And don’t worry, we’re getting to the big question: How does it taste? Well, apparently, it’s awesome. “Sorry, it’s very good. I get lots of oak, marshmallow, and maybe something spicy that I can’t quite name? Cardamom or cinnamon maybe,” said the Redditor who originally posted about the whiskey, also sharing a picture of a freshly-poured glass of it. “A little leather on the nose for me. The finish goes on forever. Excellent bottle, and happy to pay what I paid for it.” There you go, people – this thing’s worth it.

I Got That Dog In Me Bourbon is just the latest in Costco’s adventurous alcohol line, which in the last few months has leant somewhat towards novelty items. Just last week, we reported that Costco is selling Monopoly-themed wine, which comes with an adult version of the game. The retailer is also well-known for its limited-edition liquor offers, especially whiskies, which go as quickly as they come.

This new hot dog bourbon, though, really does take the cake. Will it be putting its chicken bake into a tequila next? Or churning out pizza-flavored vodka? We’ll have to wait and see.
