If you’re one of those people who thinks that stuffed crust pizza is the be-all-end-all of pizzas, expand your mind, because there’s always more out there in the experimental pizzaverse! For example, DiGiorno has a new Fully Stuffed Crust Pizza that’s set to be released in June, and if you were wearing socks when you started this article, I bet they’ve been knocked clean off.
Not sure what “fully stuffed crust” means? That’s fair, five minutes ago, I didn’t either.
Here’s the deal: The crust is filled with a river of melty, gooey, mozzarella cheese, much like your classic stuffed crust pizza. But in addition to that river, there’s an underground lake of cheese running under the surface of the entire pizza. Yep, all the way to the middle! As Brand Eating so beautifully put it, it’s “like a pizza sandwich but also topped like a pizza.” Sign me up!
Speaking of toppings, this ooey-gooey, cheese-filled pizza-and-a-half will come in two flavors: Ultimate Three Meat, topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and Genoa salami, and Double Pepperoni, topped with round slices of pepperoni and little pepperoni cubes (for textural variety, I assume, otherwise what is the point of this?).
Each pizza weighs in at almost two pounds, and costs around ten dollars, which is pretty dang reasonable for that volume of pizza. Thanks to the affordable price, sheer heft, and outside-the-box creativity this glorious DiGiorno concoction seems likely to bring to the table, I may have no choice but to eat at least a pizza a week this June. And you bet your butt it ain’t gonna be delivery!
