Announcing the return of a beloved Dr Pepper flavor less than 24 hours after April Fool’s Day was a bold move on DP’s part, but I’m here to reassure everyone that this wasn’t a stunt. Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut is coming back. Even better—we’re getting it sooner than you probably think.

It’s official: Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut is coming back this summer for a limited time!

Yes, your creamy coconut dreams (gross) have come true. We don’t have an exact release date from the Doctor just yet, but word on the street is that Creamy Coconut is dropping this month! This month, people!! April of 2026!!! Both the full sugar and zero-sugar versions are on their way to shelves as we speak.

How has the fan reaction been so far?

Judging by the comment section of Doctor Pepper’s first IG post, people have been chomping at the bit for this flavor to return, so the excitement is definitely real. But the vibe is almost giving “cuteness aggression,” in a way. I really relate to it. We’re all overstimulated by the onslaught of fake products that hit social media this week.

My favorite is that last one, because Dr Pepper Strawberries and Cream is a permanent flavor in the DP line-up. You can buy it right now. But—and I can’t stress this enough—they should still release it. From what, I don’t know. But I’m fully on Addie’s side here. I support her rights and wrongs.

**Is Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut really that good, Ariana?**

You better believe it, Ariana. It’s delicious, and you can absolutely take the word of our taste-testing team for that. My colleague Gwynedd Stuart described it as “Dr Pepper spiked with sweet, delicious coconut snow cone syrup.” Also, you guys, it’s a great mixer. I’m planning to get drunk on the beach this summer, per the Doctor’s orders.

Is this an example of the “dirty soda” trend succeeding?

I’m afraid so. This little drinkie hit the market in summer of 2024, when the Mormon dirty soda trend was starting to become mainstream. This limited-time flavor was a wildly successful launch that led to its revival in 2025 with even more fervor. But if I have to talk about dirty soda for one more second, I’m going to start yelling RELEASE THE STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM ad nauseam until my roommate institutionalizes me. Okay. Bye!!
