It’s weirdly rare for food companies to tell us that they’re discontinuing one of their limited-time products forever. Most of the time, they just looooove to keep us hanging by telling us nothing about any re-releases, thereby building buzz, which then helps massively when they bring a seemingly long-lost item back to market

Every now and again, though, they’ll drop the bomb that an item is never coming back – and that’s exactly what Dr Pepper and Blue Bell have just done, with their Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float Ice Cream. This flavor has returned to grocery store freezers nationwide, but once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. Here’s what we know, where to buy it, and whether it’s any good.

Why Is This The Final Curtain for This Flavor?

According to Blue Bell via Allrecipes, its Dr Pepper Float Ice Cream is in a “sell-off” phase, which we guess basically means that they’re trying to clear all of their stock and the ingredients they use, once and for all. The company stated that it’ll be in this phase until the end of June, but if it sells out of the ice cream before then, then it’s likely that there’s not more coming. So, essentially, act now if you want to try it; you don’t have long.

Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float Ice Cream was first released in 2023 as a collaboration between the two brands, and it quickly garnered a lot of buzz. However, in the last few months, Blue Bell has been focusing on its new flavors, as well as its new line of protein ice cream, so perhaps it’s no surprise that it’s trying to make space for these bright young things in its product line. We’ll just have to make do with all those other Dr Pepper flavored products out there, we guess.

Where Can I Find This Ice Cream?

The easiest way to figure that out is to head over to Blue Bell’s website and use its Store Locator tool. We can tell you, though, that it’s due to be in all the major retailers, including Walmart, Aldi, and Kroger, although you’ll likely have to check near you for stock specifics. You can find it in pint and half-gallon sizes.

Will I Want To Buy It?

Honestly, that kind of depends on whether you like Dr Pepper or not – but if you do, then you’re in for a treat. When we tried this ice cream, we were big fans and loved how it brought the cherry and amaretto notes in Dr Pepper to the forefront of the mix. The creaminess also really works with the slightly spicier, more tart flavors of the soda. It’s definitely a unique experience, but one that’s worth embarking on, while you still can. And if you don’t like Dr Pepper? Well, it should come as no surprise that it’s probably not worth your time.
