But not in Boston, obviously.

With the Boston Celtics facing off against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, Dunkin’ is making a slight change to their menu by renaming their popular Boston Kreme donut to the “Philly Kreme Donut.”
According to a company press release, they made the change because, “Because during playoffs, there’s no room for Boston in Philly…not on the court, and definitely not in a dozen donut box.”
The change will only apply to Dunkin’ stores in Philadelphia, and only during the playoffs. And there won’t be any change to the recipe—it’ll be the same vanilla-custard-stuffed delight as always.
But that shouldn’t lead to any online arguments, unless Bostonians are passionate about their city or Dunkin’ donuts. Oh, wait…
However, most of the online comments I found on news stories weren’t focused on the name change, but just taking the opportunity to slam a rival team with posts like, “Why not name them cream puffs just like the team” and “More like Philly creamed. At least in game one.”
So maybe these Bostonians aren’t angry, but just… Bostonians?
