Every Recall To Know About This Week

Wow! Well, I’m eating my words from last week. The continued monitoring of iceberg lettuce has a big breakthrough and a few other recalls are sprinkled into the week. I guess that’s what we get for having a bit of a lull earlier this month. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in. Just be sure to keep your mouth closed so you don’t catch any recalled strays!

Iceberg Lettuce ― Cyclospora Parasite

An update to last week’s recall talks, Taylor Farms has officially called for a voluntary recall of their iceberg lettuce. This is due to the ongoing national concern of Cyclospora contamination. The company has stopped receiving product from the implicated lot, suspended distribution of the iceberg lettuce from Central Mexico, and are now notifying their customers.

The shredded iceberg product was distributed June 29th through July 16th in AL, AR, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WI. A complete list of affected products, lot codes, and use-by dates can be found on the FDA’s website.

Banana & Strawberry Fruit Puree Pouches ― Plastic

Organics Limited is voluntarily recalling select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4oz pouches. This is due to an internal packaging defect that may result in the presence of soft, food-grade plastic in the finished product.

The recalled product was sold exclusively through Kroger, Meijer, and Target retail stores nationwide between 03/06/2026 and 07/13/2026. Affected products can be identified by Lane number 4 and best before dates of 01/19/2027, 01/20/2027, 03/17/2027, 03/18/2027, 05/14/2027, or 05/15/2027.

Eggs ― Salmonella

Midwest Poultry Services is voluntarily recalling 1,589,577 dozen white shell eggs and brown cage free shell eggs produced in Texas. This is due to a potential contamination with Salmonella. The eggs were distributed to foodservice and retail customers in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

The eggs can be identified by sell by or best by dates between July 20th and August 17th. They were available to consumers at Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana, Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi, and other smaller retail outlets.

The recalled eggs will have an identifying code number printed on the left or right sides of the carton in date-coding ink only. Only codes P-1950 or 0840962 with a Julian Date between 157 and 184 printed on the side of the carton are recalled. Spicy Breakfast Burrito ― Soy

Fresh & Read Foods has recalled a limited number of Sprig & Sprout spicy breakfast burritos and Fresh and Ready spicy breakfast burritos as they may contain undeclared soy. The recalled products were distributed in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia grab-and-go markets and vending machines. The recall is limited to products that were produced between July 9th and July 12th and can be identified with a Fresh Thru date of July 20, 2026.
