We Finally Tried Faygo Dreamin, Here’s Our Review

Faygo has been a household name and a favorite in the Midwest for years—and it’s also a childhood favorite of mine. While Mountain Dew is often the brand that we associate with wild and crazy flavors of soda, Faygo has released flavors such as Cotton Candy, Candy Apple, Diet Key Lime Pie, and tons more.

Not too long ago (October of 2023), Faygo released a brand new flavor, Faygo Dreamin, which is described as an orange creme soda. I was ecstatic at the news of this release and couldn’t wait to try it for myself. After months and months of hunting, I finally got my hands on Faygo Dreamin and I’m ready to let you know my thoughts on it!

new faygo flavor: faygo dreamin

New Faygo!

Faygo Dreamin

While Faygo Dreamin isn’t my favorite Faygo flavor of all time—that honor belongs to Faygo Grape—if you can manage to get your hands on this new Faygo flavor, it is definitely one for the ages (and your refrigerators).

Pros: The blend of orange and creme soda is done in such a way that, even though I don’t regularly drink orange flavored things, I still find Faygo Dreamin to be very delicious and refreshing. I am reminded of the flavor of an orange creamsicle as I am drinking this and everything is giving me very nostalgic feelings. It’s very smooth and goes down very easily. Whether you want to use this as a mixer, to make an ice cream float, or just drink it by itself, I think this new Faygo flavor really hits the spot.

Cons: As with all Faygo flavors, Fayo Dreamin is both caffeine free and made with the artificial sweetener sucralose. While I am personally not bothered by the lack of caffeine, the sucralose definitely impacts the orange flavor. It’s still great, but I can’t help but feel that it could be even better if it was a bit more natural tasting and made with real sugar.
