How To Get Free Chick-fil-A Fries This Week

Free fries. A two-word dose of alliteration that makes the hairs on your forearms stand on end. Well, it does to ours, anyway. Fries aren’t the most expensive thing on the menu by a long shot, but when you can get them for nothing? When you can save a bit of cash and enjoy a pile of salty fried potatoes at the same time? It’s the little things in life, really.

We’d imagine Chick-fil-A feels the same, given what it’s offering this week. The restaurant has taken a break from bringing back fan-favorite sandwiches (which have ended up being pretty disappointing) and trying out new restaurant concepts to offer its customers a chance to win free fries – and you can do so until next Monday. Here’s the deal. 

Spot The Cows!

We were alerted to Chick-fil-A’s free waffle fries promotion yesterday by @thefreebieguy over on Instagram, with Chick-fil-A subsequently posting a handy guide to the whole thing on its website. To win the fries, you just have to play Spot the Cows in its app, a digital game released to celebrate Cow Appreciation Day, returning on July 14, an old tradition in which you can get free entrées if you head to one of its restaurants in cow-related clothing or costumery. In the run-up, from today, July 7, to July 13, the free fries act as a sort of teaser. 

But to the game itself! Open Spot the Cows up in the Chick-fil-A app, and you’ll be greeted with various scenes featuring cows that don’t quite look like cows yet. Tap on them to help them “suit up,” rinse, and repeat before the timer runs out. If you get enough cows, you’ll win a free Medium Waffle Fries, given to you as a reward in your Rewards tab, which you can then redeem in-store or online.

So The Free Fries Aren’t Guaranteed?

Well, no – you do have to play the game to a certain level. But if you don’t get them on your first try, you can play Spot the Cows again until you do. Just bear in mind that you can only win one free portion of fries, and that you have to be a Chick-fil-A Member to take part. 

You’ll also need to use your reward quickly. The offer is only valid through July 13, and you can’t use it on Cow Appreciation Day itself. Think of it as an amuse-bouche, we guess.
