Frosted Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts are here. Again. No, this isn’t one of their brand new Pop-Tart flavors—they release this seasonal treat every fall for a limited time—but Sporked has never tried it before, so it’s exciting for us. Pumpkin pie you can put in a toaster and eat in the car when you’re late for work? Sign me up.
By the way: Pop-Tart fans adore this flavor. They’ve been petitioning to have it year-round since its release… 15 years ago. So I already have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to taste better than most of the store-bought pumpkin pies we’ve tried over the years.

Pros: I don’t come from a family of many holiday traditions, but one thing my mom and I always do around Thanksgiving is make pumpkin pie. And the filling in this tastes exactly like the mixing bowl before we bake it. Canned pumpkin. Heavy cream. Vanilla extract. The full gamut of fall spices—always twice the amount that the recipe calls for. They could have made the mistake of going too sweet with this, but nope! I’m genuinely surprised by how warmly spiced the filling is. The clove has a real kick. Conceptually, pumpkin pie as a toaster tart just works, since the plain pastry perfectly mimics pie crust.
Cons: The plain white icing on top and “autumnal sprinkles” are a little boring. I don’t want to mess with a great product, but they could use a revamp, even if just for aesthetic purposes.
Verdict: A Pop-Tart that reminds mez of my childhood deserves high praise. Practically speaking, I see this appealing more to adults than kids—fine by me, but worth noting for parents out there. The little-uns might want more sugar, less spice!
Howdy! I’m a Sporked writer based in L.A., and you can find me overstaying my welcome at just about any coffee shop with free wifi, no matter the speed. Sadly, I can never move back to my home state, Florida, because even if the seafood is totally unmatched, there aren’t enough Mediterranean or Korean restaurants to keep me sane.
