Watch Out, Other Frozen Dinners—Kraft Mac Has Entered the Chat

Kraft Mac & Cheese is getting Krafty again. It wasn’t enough for them to rebrand to “Kraft Mac & Cheese” about a year ago, or to have grocery store real estate across the pasta, microwaveable dinner cups, and dairy sections of the grocery store. No no—they will not stop until there is a cheesy Kraft product in every single aisle of the store. And to be entirely candid…I’m not against it. What can I say? I’m a mac lover! So great news for me and any of you other fellow Mac lovers out there that Kraft just released Mac & Cheese Deluxe in the freezer aisle in two flavors, Original Cheddar and Four Cheese. Ooooh baby, sign me up.

What is different about these new frozen Kraft mac & cheeses? Are they richer? Creamier? Faster? Krafiter?

Well, according to the press release (and the Director of Brand Communications for Kraft Mac & Cheese Rachel Drof), the main goal of this new ooey-gooey cheesy delight is to be, a.) deluxified and, b.) comforting, all while minimizing prep and cook time, as well as cleanup. I mean, you already know I’m on board with that limited information. As for the taste, all we know is that both flavors will include “perfectly cooked macaroni pasta covered in a creamy, homestyle cheese sauce and topped with real cheddar cheese.” Have I mentioned I’m in? And they aren’t just releasing these and then going on their merry way. No. Kraft is recognizing, in the spirit of being a comforting brand, the freezer aisle can be a cold and unforgiving place. To that end they are selling freezer aisle sweaters (yes, you heard me right, but I will say it again for those in the back, FREEZER AISLE SWEATERS) on Amazon while supplies last for $19.99 each. It looks kind of like a Christmas sweater but with little macaroni on it. It’s so cute it kind of melted me a little, much like the cheddar in this new deluxified macaroni or a Barbie left too close to the stove.

Anyways, you can now get the new frozen Kraft Mac & cheese products nationwide, so get out there and find you some Mac, you Mac lover, you. Or a freezer aisle sweater—whichever is calling to you more as the hottest months of year approach.
