Listen up folks, a bit of the roadhouse is coming to you. And no I’m not talking about the Patrick Swayze film or—god forbid—the recent remake with Jake Gyllenhaal. I’m talking about the best roadhouse of all: Texas Roadhouse. Ironically established in 1993 in Clarksville, Indiana by American businessman Wayne Kent Taylor, the chain now spans 49 states. And it’s become a fan favorite dine-in restaurant, evidenced by its continued success in the last year even as other chains found a decrease in customers in the face of inflation.
The chain is popular thanks to a number of factors, namely their affordable prices paired with quality, made-from-scratch steakhouse-style food. But, most importantly, they’ve got some of the most delicious rolls. Texas Roadhouse’s rolls have become a signature item from the chain and a top contender for best free bread at a restaurant (though not THE best according to an episode of Good Mythical Morning). The rolls are made in house, known for their signature sweetness and cinnamon butter pairing, and are unlimited and free with your meal.
Though the rolls have inspired plenty of copycat recipes from food bloggers, the real deal may be coming to your home soon. According to food fanatic @markie_devo, Texas Roadhouse will be releasing a frozen version of their famous rolls starting this June (aka right now). Each box contains 12 mini rolls packaged in a ready-to-bake-pan with a honey cinnamon glaze, similar to the traditional cinnamon butter served at the restaurant.
Where can you find the new Texas Roadhouse frozen rolls?
Fans can finally stock up and enjoy the sweet cinnamon buttery goodness from the comfort of their own houses, while skeptics can see if these rolls are all they’re cracked up to be without braving the roadhouse itself. The product will begin its release June 29th, solely in the test states of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The frozen rolls are set to be sold exclusively at Walmart.
If you are in one of these lucky states, be sure to grab a box if you see one. If history’s taught us anything, there’s sure to be a high demand. Texas Roadhouse’s rolls have created such a fanbase they even created a limited edition honey cinnamon butter candle back in fall 2022. There have been other fads with acquiring these rolls, from fans sharing tips on getting the butter and rolls without the meal, to creating a Texas Roadhouse Rolls Challenge, to a video going viral on TikTok for detailing the secret on how to get frozen rolls during the holiday season. People love these rolls and will find any and every way to get their hands on them. Hopefully, for everyone, the release of this product will calm the Texas Roadhouse Rolls frenzy.
