Mooooooommmmmmmm, the breakfast foods are combining again!!!! Remember when Eggo went and made cereal? Well today, much like a Star Wars-ian Empire, the cereal strikes back. That’s right, we are getting some good ol’ fashioned cereal-flavored waffles in the form of Post’s newest breakfast extravaganza: Fruity Pebbles Waffles and Cocoa Pebbles Waffles. If you’ve always wanted significantly more pebbly freezer waffles, you’re in luck.
What will these Fruity Pebbles waffles be like? If I play the Flintstones theme song backwards while eating them, will I be transported back to the stone age?
Turns out Fruity Pebbles waffles probably won’t transport you back to the stone age (I know, sad). BUT! Eat them without utensils while listening to bird calls and wearing only a loin cloth and you can get pretty darn close. As for how they’ll actually taste? Chances are, they’ll taste pretty good. It looks like both varieties are not only flavored like the cereals they aim to emulate, but they also have little pieces of their respective cereals in the waffle itself. How frickin’ cool is that?! And while these aren’t the first cereal-flavored frozen waffles out there (Froot Loops Eggos came out in 2003 and then again in April 2022), they are still pretty exciting as a concept. Plus, and I know this is going to ruffle some feathers (specifically Toucan Sam’s), I think that while the form factor of Froot Loops is more useful and fun, the taste of Fruity Pebbles is, well, fruitier. Both cereals are flavor workhorses. In fact, Fruity Pebbles are Sporked’s favorite fruity cereal and Cocoa Pebbles are Sporked‘s favorite chocolate cereal—and now you can get both fabulous flaves in waffle form. Or at least, you can soon.
It’s not clear exactly when these will hit stores, but these bad boys will come in packs of six (whether you are getting Fruity Pebbles Waffles or Cocoa Pebbles Waffles) and should be available nationwide in the not-so-distant future, according to a post from food blogger @Markie_devo. So, until then, Yabba Dabba Doo be on the lookout for these in a grocery store near you!
