Last year, North Carolina shop DeWayne’s celebrated April Fools’ Day by tricking its shoppers into believing it was introducing a ranch milkshake to its sweet shop. While there was no way it was real, it did make us wonder what it would taste like. Well, it looks like indoor waterpark resort chain, Great Wolf Lodge, had the same curiosity, as the resort is commemorating National Ranch Day (March 10th) with a limited-edition Ranch Milkshake. Here’s everything you need to know about the daring dessert.

What is in the Great Wolf Lodge Ranch Milkshake?
The shake is made with vanilla ice cream blended with real ranch dressing, adorned with a loaded Bloody Mary-style garnish of crispy chicken, carrots, celery, whipped cream, and a lime rim.
How much does the Great Wolf Lodge Ranch Milkshake cost?
On March 10th, it will sell for $3.10, which is an affordable price for a novelty item that you’ll likely find surprisingly good or too strange to finish.
What does the Great Wolf Lodge Ranch Milkshake taste like?
While we haven’t tasted it yet, it might actually be a good combination. Ranch is made primarily with buttermilk, so its creaminess could blend well with the vanilla ice cream’s texture, creating a pleasant mouthfeel—but the flavor will, at best, probably confuse your taste buds.
When can I get Great Wolf Lodge’s Ranch Milkshake?
It’ll be available at the 22 resort locations across the country from March 5-20, 2026.
Is this the first-ever real Ranch Milkshake?
Technically, yes, but it’s not the first time vanilla ice cream has been combined with ranch dressing. You might remember Van Leeuwen and Hidden Valley Ranch’s ice cream collaboration from 2023, which was weird, to say the least. That one tasted like you dumped a packet of Hidden Valley dip mix into vanilla ice cream, not even like the dressing. The mistake there, though, was that the ice cream base wasn’t buttermilk. It needed to resemble the condiment more. We’ll have to see if Great Wolf Lodge’s version fares better.
