“New M&M’s Flavor Day” is a big one at my house. And today, we’ve got our hands on the brand-new Honey Roasted Peanut M&M’s. Peanut M&M’s don’t get new flavors too often; let’s find out whether that’s for a good reason.
What exactly do you mean Honey Roasted Peanut M&M’s?
As our own Jessica Block reported last month, these new M&M’s are based on the classic airplane snack: honey-roasted peanuts. The exact method in which the flavor comes across is still unclear, but that’s what I’m here for. Did they roast the peanuts in honey before coating them in chocolate? Did they add some sort of smoked honey flavor to the milk chocolate between the peanut and the candy shell? Based on what I know about M&M’s, I believe the “honey roasted” flavor has indeed been added to the milk chocolate rather than the peanut itself. That said, there’s only one sure-fire way to find out.
- Honey Roasted Peanut M&M’s Review

Pros: I was concerned that adding honey flavoring to a Peanut M&M would make it too sweet, but this is actually very well-balanced. Nothing is stopping me from absent-mindedly eating most of the bag while I write articles. I definitely prefer these to the original.
Cons: Forgive me, but I’ve never been a huge fan of Peanut M&M’s. The release of the vastly superior Peanut Butter M&M’s has only confirmed my loyalty lies with less crunchy candies. That said, I managed to find a rare factory error in this bag: a peanutless Peanut M&M. This was the perfect way to determine whether I liked the flavor sans peanut. Folks, let me tell you, these are truly just okay. Honey-roasted peanut people will love them. Everyone else will probably like them slightly more than standard peanut M&M’s—unless they have a specific nostalgia for those mini bags I always traded away at Halloween.

Where can I get Honey Roasted Peanut M&M’s?
This new M&M’s flavor is hitting shelves wherever M&M’s are sold. I found my bag in Target’s weirdly well-stocked candy aisle, but I’m sure you’ll be able to pick it up at Walmart too. At this time, I believe the flavor is only available in 9oz “Share Size” bags—no snack or fun-size packs just yet.
