The New York Times wasn’t kidding when it boldly stated 2026’s flavor of the year was banana: the mild yellow fruit has been popping up everywhere, topping drinks at Starbucks and winding up in matcha at Dunkin. Recently, Sonic jumped in and joined the trend, too, with an entire collection of banana-flavored sips. And now, another restaurant chain is introducing a line of sweet, fruit-flavored drinks… but this time, it’s not all about banana.

Popeyes just might be throwing some slight shade in Sonic’s direction with the debut of its newest menu addition. Yes, the newcomers do include fruity drinks you can sip. But no, it’s not just another spin on the banana trend.

Sonic Brought the Banana, Popeyes Is Introducing Pineapple

If you’re tired of all of the banana to be be found in beverages right now, good news. Forget about Sonic’s banana bonanza because Popeyes is serving up a few brand-new beverages that are refreshing and perfect for crispy fried chicken (at least, in my opinion): an all-pineapple lineup.

Popeyes is debuting three pineapple drinks to celebrate the end of summer: a Pineapple Lemonade, a Frozen Pineapple Lemonade, and a Pineapple Iced Tea.

All three of these ice-cold drinks are made with a bold hit of pineapple flavor. They’re intended to taste bright and refreshing, with a fruit-forward twist. Plus, since pineapple and sunny days are so closely linked, it’s really a “final days of summer” kind of drink you’ll find fits the late summer to early fall season well.

Oh, and there’s one more reason you’ll want to stop by Popeyes while these pineapple drinks are around for a limited time. The fried chicken chain is also bringing back its fan-favorite $6 Big Box meal. With this deal, you can pick up two pieces of Popeyes Signature Chicken or three tenders, plus two regular-sized sides and a buttermilk biscuit.

Pair that satisfying meal with a Pineapple Lemonade or iced tea, and you’ve got one pretty perfect meal.

You Can Try Popeyes New Pineapple Beverages Starting Today

Popeyes’ new pineapple drinks are only sticking around for a limited time, so you’ll want to give them a try while you can. The good news? They just debuted, so you have plenty of opportunities.

You can pick up all three pineapple drinks at Popeyes starting August 31st. Drink prices start at just $3.49.

Similarly, the accompanying $6 Big Box Deal is also back and available to order starting August 31st. But, like the lemonades and iced tea, it, too, will only be around for a limited time—and this is always a popular offering, so take advantage of it more than once!
